The Fixx - Driven Out
Creating three stunning albums in 3 years like Shuttered Room, Reach the Beach, and Phantoms is no small feat. By 1986, wave music had made way for the plasticky Canadian/American AOR and the sublime Adult Pop style of Deacon Blue/Blue Nile. Many got lost along the way, but The Fixx, even with albums that weren't as exciting as their predecessors, have always delivered a gem. Secret Separation on Walkabout, this one on Calm Animals, and How Much is Enough and No One Has to Cry on Ink.

I'm writing here because that luminary who complains about the censorship of right-wing intellectuals in the name of @[Cervovolante] had previously de-friended me for a 2 on one of his reviews, preventing me from commenting on his latest review of Meyrink: Zothique 6: speciale Gustav Meyrink - Gustav Meyrink - recensione

My comment is this, and I'm writing it here:

Oh yeah, it must be a conspiracy of the progressive press... if I had to say, as a communist, how many damn books I can't read in my language that would definitely be very interesting and easily translatable into Italian (see? I'm not even complaining about the replacement of introductions, but rather the lack or availability of certain classic works of thought that I generally refer to) I would have to think of far more than just one conspiracy. Meyrink and the Golem could be fine by me, but I'm SICK TO DEATH of always seeing the same crap in my feed that talks about fascist dimwits, mystics, or other nonsense like people writing prefaces for racist murderers. Oh, but Magris is a liberal, right? Any excuse will do, it seems. With liberals, you can kick down an open door in academia, but do we really still have to tell ourselves it’s all a conspiracy? In fact, if certain garbage has been legitimized, it's precisely thanks to the liberals that the right harbors a mimetic hatred for. Now there’s a lib trend to be antifascist, when just five years ago, institutions, organizations, and academics were opening the doors to the far right in every field. And to say that's not true means wanting to speak out at all costs without knowing anything. The fact that people like Evola end up in the trash heap of history can only be a good thing for me. Here on Deb, it feels like being in front of the astronomical base of "Contact" after they discover alien contact, with all sorts of religious folks spouting their nonsense, from conspiracy theories to the most refined theories of human stupidity. @[Comindeb]
