Blur - Beetlebum Parklife and The Great Escape are rich and elaborate albums, the Blur of '97 strip away many elements to emphasize others much more heavily: the brass, for example, disappears, the strings too (except for a section in one track), the four return to the sonic attitude of the first two albums. The guitar lines and the tide of effects from Coxon make everything completely different from what they had done before: it's their third twist in five years (after those of Modern Life is Rubbish and Parklife), but it's the one that will be the most shocking and decisive, especially since now all eyes are on them. The result is, without beating around the bush, an absolute masterpiece, a perfect record where not even a comma feels out of place. I remember when, in '97, I talked about it with a friend who said to me, "Well, The Great Escape was better," and I said, "You really don't understand a damn thing, my friend." #blur30

The 5th Dimension - "Wedding Bell Blues" (The Ed Sullivan Show February 21, 1971)

#edsullivanshow

From 1948 to 1971, every Sunday night Ed Sullivan hosted the greatest and most famous artists on his show, which aired on CBS. About ten years ago, it was repackaged into 12 DVDs, and an Italian newspaper published the best performances. I'm sharing them again; there are truly wonderful things.

Sons of Otis - Trust (2020) Totem Cat Records Since nothing else has come out, this is currently the best Stoner album of the decade. Since no one plays bass anymore, they decided to put so many that you'll feel like it's playing from your neighbor's stereo and not yours.

Yeah, the track is the Diesel or the Oxazejam or the Liquid Jam of the album. Yes, it's the one with the Wah-Wah that’s in all of them, yes, that one, good job. Well, okay, it’s a bit shorter in this one, but it's still the same. They’re not that stupid to make a different album after almost 30 years.

Catherine Wheel - Fripp
One of the most beautiful dedications.

Baby Woodrose - Caught in a Whirl (VIDEOCLIP)

My ABSOLUTE favorite band of the new millennium (also because I probably only know THEM)
Their first two albums are A-MA-ZING that we are revisiting

Cocktail: 13FloorElevators/Sonics/Seeds/Who/J effersonAirplane
Fuzz, sixties keyboards, acid vibes, stoner.

Henna - Lucio Dalla
Coming off that painful album "Cambio" (only "Comunista" is worth saving, "Attenti al lupo" flopped, and as you know, I'm pro-mainstream), Dalla returns with a good album. Nothing that shouts miracle, but some enjoyable tracks ("Latin Lover," "Treno") and then one song that for me can stand alongside those from the famous trilogy, "Il lampo del genio."
Powerful from start to finish the lyrics.

A Remark You Made This song has set a standard much more than one might think.

Ludwig (2012 Remaster) If someone asked me what kind of music the Blur make, I probably wouldn't be able to answer #blur30
