Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song (Live Video)
... Here comes Led Zeppelin III. On April 18, 1970, in Phoenix, the LZ wrap up their fifth U.S. tour. The schedule has been grueling but it has paid off; LZ II is a massive success and the band's fame grows exponentially, for better and for worse... Fans adore them because they find them unique and irresistible, but the press slams them for their excesses. They can't escape the labels; someone brands them as heavy metal, provoking Page's ire. It was time to prove to those who see them as nothing more than cynical, vulgar rockers that the LZ are not just a riff-shooting machine but a band capable of showcasing a complete musical range. Exhausted, the guys split up; Jones and Bonham return to their beloved families while Page and Plant, fired up and urged on by Atlantic to produce a new album, head to a simple hermitage in a remote location in Snowdonia, the region in northeast Wales, to a cottage called Bron-Yr-Au.

In the meantime, I stop by to greet you and thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Bob Dylan- Knockin' on Heaven's Door Original
Sorry to take advantage of us and this board, but I need to vent to someone and her wish was not to tell anyone except for scattered ashes... I’m back now because a few hours ago, right after posting my last listen, I received the phone call that, unfortunately, I was expecting any day... My best friend, my sister not by blood but by fact, lost her battle against a horrible illness... For thirty years, she was the most important adult in my life, more than my mother, my wife, or other friends, and she was a wonderful soul who, even in the weeks before her death, concerned herself with others, her voice barely above a whisper... Fly high in the sky, CATIA, fly high and free as you’ve always been, and smile; yours is a beautiful smile....
Sorry again for the outburst...

Led Zeppelin - Ramble On
Led Zeppelin II continues... The triumphant march goes on from October '69 to September '70 with another 6 tours (3 in the States, 2 in Europe, and 1 in the United Kingdom). It's especially America that awaits them with bated breath. After just over a year, they are the quintessential rock 'n' roll band, and here the reputation of being the supreme hard rock group is born.
The "brown bomber" reaches the top position, dethroning Abbey Road, and it will be an album that inspires dozens of bands in the decades to come, effectively setting new reference standards for anyone wishing to measure themselves on their same ground. The album is often remembered as the hardest of the LZ, and this is likely due to the two most influential and famous songs that became cornerstones of hard rock: "Whole Lotta Love" and "Heartbreaker."

Zeppelinian notes. Atlantic senses the scent of unprecedented success and pushes for a new album immediately to strike while the iron is hot. The guys maintain a grueling pace from January to September, performing over 100 concerts in 6 tours. Thus, Led Zeppelin II is recorded in fits and starts between London, Los Angeles, New York, and Vancouver, in between tours from May to September. The pressure from Atlantic is overwhelming; the album must be released right after summer. Witnessing such a frantic production is the famous sound engineer Eddie Kramer: "The tapes were coming in from everywhere; we worked in every hole we could book. It was a wild time; the band was extremely loud. I left them the depraved aspect of the matter."

pills of Zepp... I take a moment to catch my breath (they don’t!) I wrap up the listens of the first album with the first example of how our guys appropriate other people's material until it becomes a song of their own, and the master who shuffles the deck and places his peremptory seal is always Page, who this time starts from traditional folk to create a final result that always surpasses the starting point.
The first track in which it’s highlighted that will be the peak of Zeppelinian art is the union between acoustic and electric, the dichotomy tension/calm light/shadow... Here, incredible emotional intensity.

Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown
fourth episode of Zepp pills Christmas Eve '68 the boys Grant and the newly hired tour manager Richard Cole set off for their first US tour (opening act for Vanilla Fudge). It's the beginning of an unprecedented adventure filled with unparalleled music, unforgettable concerts, and excesses of every kind (alcohol, sex, drugs) in unfathomable quantities—this is the start of Led Zeppelin. Meanwhile, in November, Grant secured from Atlantic an unprecedented contract for an up-and-coming band still without an album, with a crazy advance and, above all, a revolutionary clause that guaranteed the band complete artistic control—essentially, they would organize their own tours and concerts, tipping the promoters instead of the other way around! The album was released in the States on January 17 and in England on March 28—between January and October '69, they held over 100 concerts, devouring everything in front of them: 3 American tours, 2 English ones, and 1 Scandinavian tour.

Good times bad times - Led Zeppelin - Lyrics
Third episode of Zepp pills... June '68 the Yardbirds disband, all that remains are Page and Grant, the father/brother/friend/manager of our future - it’s the moment after several years of being regarded as one of the best session men and then joining the Yardbirds for James Patrick Page to forge a new band - within a couple of months, John Baldwin (Paul Jones), also a professional, is recruited along with two perfect unknowns in their twenties who play in various bands and pubs of the Midlands. The anecdotes would be hundreds but let’s continue... In August, during the first rehearsals, the 4 immediately realize that the feeling flowing among them is something magical, so they seize the opportunity for a tour in Scandinavia, inheriting the Yardbirds' legacy. They start off as the New Yardbirds and their first gig as Led Zeppelin is on October 15.

Second episode 31/5/1948-25/9/1980 thirty-six years ago on the evening/night between the 24th and 25th John Henry Bonham, one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, died after a decidedly alcoholic day in a room of Page's house where the band and crew were preparing for the upcoming American tour.
The splendid version of Heart at the Kennedy's is in his honor, with his son on drums and the surprise of the choir at the end, all in bowler hats in the style of the '75 Bonzo/A Clockwork Orange tour.
Plant's face during the performance is a concentration of emotions, as is Jason's at the end and Jimmy's in the brief final interview. I always get emotional, but I don't count.

A few months after that day in September, my family friend gifted me Led Zeppelin II while I was still in the third year of middle school, saying that two years earlier he had been in an R4 with friends in England to see them (it was the famous mega concert at Knebworth) and he also said, "or

Jack Black at Kennedy Center Honors Led Zeppelin
I start my personal Led Zeppelin review in an unusual way, before getting into albums, tracks, and comments. Today and tomorrow, I'll share a couple of special flashes that deserve attention for those who are interested. Obviously, it’s this great piece by Jack Black, a hilarious big lover of rock, introducing them to the Kennedys for their contribution to music in the States. Accompanied by a rapid, evocative sequence of archive images of the greatest rock 'n' roll band... lovely faces in the audience and of the three old-timers. Until next time.

Deep Purple - Knebworth '85 - 07 - Knocking at Your Back Door
The last episode, the Mark II lineup reunites in 1984, 11 years after the Gillan-Blackmore clashes, and coincidentally, nothing has changed for the better because Perfect Strangers is one of their best albums, just below MH/Burn, and because after two days, those two start again... Too bad the two world tours are amazing, with DVDs to prove it - Knebworth was beautiful - but it's useless; two roosters in one henhouse just don’t fit... They will make The House of Blue Light without much desire, as they are already divided again, and then it’s over, or better, Deep Purple continues; these old bastards still have souls to sell... A farewell to John Lord, dear old friend, you've left a great void...

DEEP PURPLE (YOU...KEEP ON MOVING) MK4
To replace Blackmore, the true master of the Purple, Tommy Bolin is called in—an authentic young prodigy of the instrument, already known from Zephyr and James Gang as a replacement for Joe Walsh, with various illustrious collaborations, including his guitar work on Spectrum by Cobham. Bolin admits he doesn't know our music, but his creative flair is fantastic, and thus comes the birth of Come Taste the Band, which, in retrospect, is one of the most beloved albums by fans. The album is very beautiful and varied. The young Coverdale, Hughes, and Bolin are bursting with energy, while the seasoned Lord and Paice bring their usual great class. Unfortunately, Bolin and Hughes are devastated by drugs, especially the former, who is now a heroin addict and sometimes can't even stand on stage. It's a real shame because, in the available live performances from the tour on "good" nights, the show was fantastic—thus, Mark IV is born and dies. Sadly, just a few months later, Tommy Bolin also dies from an overdose.

Deep Purple - Soldier Of Fortune
After the worldwide success of Burn, the second album of Mark III, Stormbringer, is released. The judgment immediately suffers from the comparison with the previous masterpiece; the album receives good but not thrilling reviews... It’s an album with a less immediate impact, but with time, it has been reevaluated, at least by me. Tracks like the title track, "Hold On," "Holy Man," "Lady Double Dealer," and "The Gipsy" are of high quality. The interplay of the voices of Coverdale and Hughes is intriguing - then Blackmore leaves. They say the unnecessary reason is that he wouldn’t approve of the funky vein that has entered the sound. Nonsense! Blackmore leaves because Hughes and Coverdale had gained ground, and he has to be the uncontested number one. Future history would prove this quite a bit, and it’s indeed strange—those who have heard the various live performances know—that one would leave after a spectacular tour at the peak of their form. I choose "Soldier of Fortune," a beautiful closing track by Blackmore and Coverdale, covered by the man in black.
