My email is: Symbad_Bassist (at) Yahoo (dot) it and I wear a comfortable size 40 shoe. I prefer a varied diet centered on grains, legumes, and fruit. At least in theory: my wife has two hobbies 1) cooking 2) bothering me; so... In prehistory I was also macrobiotic; not anymore. In the end, all things considered, there's nothing more stupid than dying healthy!!! I have about a billion CDs, mostly bought in the USA; but on the other hand, I “maintain” two old cars: so old that calling them junk would be a big compliment. Better this way: I hope no one will steal them. And I can always say I love “Vintage” stuff. (Update 2013: I managed to change them. Still used things though!). For those facing job crises I would recommend “Working with Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman or quitting work altogether. Money has never made anyone richer. And anyway, when you die, you can't take it with you. For everyone else: “In a Silent Way”, Zawinul’s biography written by Brian Glasser, or “Footprints”, Shorter’s biography by a good journalist whose name I forget, or even “The Buddha in the Daily Life” by R. Causton. The latter book is only in English. But it's worth it: if you don’t change religion, at least it helps you endure annoying bullshit better. At least for the next three hours. Then also “Healing with Coulds” by Robin Norwood and books by Brian Weiss on psychoanalytic therapy based on hypnotic regression that reveals your past incarnations. I don’t feel qualified to give advice; maybe I think it's not worth taking yourself too seriously; instead, let’s take seriously the things we need to do. We are tolerant, and trust me: don’t trust anyone. As Luciano De Crescenzo says: the important thing in life is not to be fucking bored. And as Flaiano, a true Abruzzese, used to say, “Italians love more the inauguration of maintenance.” :-) Cheers, V.
Brief profile: living in central Italy. Reproduced for a long time; passionate about good reading (preferably biographies of musicians) and good music; jazz, above all, but without preconceptions. Various work experiences abroad, generally broadening the mind; in this case, it seems to be an exception! Exhausted mountain biker in summer, jogger in winter, and “decent” electric bass player. Perpetually on a diet (in Italy: see above!). Favorite motto: “It’s sad if you find a worm in an apple; but it's sadder if you find half!” and also these from Flaiano: “In love, you must be shameless and ready for anything, even going to bed with your wife,” “Now don’t give me an example otherwise I won’t understand anything anymore,” and as the hens, shedding their feathers, said: “Who has feathers, put on feathers,” or the hen to the confessor priest: “Father, bless me because I have pecked a lot.” Vegetables chopped, peas and mashed beans, small pieces of potatoes, chopped cauliflower; but now enough talking about the past! :-)
