Lyle Mays Street Dreams
Voto:
What can I say... I know Mays from Metheny's albums, I haven't listened to this one, so I don't know if Tony or Uxy are right. I liked the review, regardless of whether it states true or false things, subjectively speaking. On Metheny's records, Mays is most often the added value to the songs, bringing a very personal "color," sometimes ambient, sometimes ethnic, never predictable for sure. Anyway, it's not just Mays who enjoys being a musician; I believe all musicians enjoy showcasing their "compositional technique," which, when expressed to a certain degree, is something delightful. Certainly much better than the often self-indulgent technique on the instrument.

Those who love the wall don't give it a 4, my dear quick bang. I give 5 to the albums I love.

""Lateralus" is an immense, deep, and unsettling work... but I can't give it either a 5 or a 4"----->>> Poor guy, help him out. You can't give it either a 5 or a 4, but you see, you don't need to be the one to give it, because this album has already made its way into the history of music on its own, without your help."

My dear friend with whom I share the province of Venice, 42 years today... I am nothing. I believe.
Enrico Rava Easy Living

Well, when it comes to Enrico Rava, we're talking about pearls. I think the risk of jazz nowadays is the academicism that has affected fusion, or the loss of value of the jazz-newage stream that is quite annoying.

A disc of great songs. A masterpiece. Just like Kid A. And like Amnesiac. Hail to the Thief still doesn't sit well with me.

I didn't know where to write this, so I’m writing it here. The editorial that's out today is, in my opinion, a very profound reflection, bitter, yet indescribably beautiful. It's something everyone should contemplate.

But is there only the piano on this album?
