So according to your reasoning filled with irreverence and nursery rhymes, a certain Edoardo Bennato would have never sold anything? The truth is that Bennato in the '70s was worth 13 times Rino Gaetano. Compare two LPs from the same years and you'll see that, unless you're reasoning like a stubborn fan, I'm right. (Anyway, I loved Rino very much and he could certainly be heard on the radio.)

They sold millions of records, while others surely aligned like Della Mea, Pietrangeli, Marini ended up in anonymity. So let's admit that saying nonsense that merit had its space is true; perhaps he lacked a bit in talent or in the art of knowing how to market himself.

Oh wow, I didn't see it on TV, I think I didn't miss anything. I mostly agree with you, but after all, "Aida" and "Ad esempio a me piace....il sud" (on the first album, I think) are the Rino songs I love the most.
