he also tried to modernize reggae; listening to his records today (except for Live and Babylon Bus) reminds me of a phrase by Dalla (he's not a singer, it's advice for girls): "this Andean music that always repeats itself" (just replace Andean with reggae). great review.

They caught the pope, first the papi then the pope (who had escaped my de-meeting raudiante!!!) the year ends well, I hope for a better 2010 (and that they adjust their aim a bit). As for the B. political scene from 1994 to today, we have been alternately governed by two coalitions (both of them crap, my purchasing power has dropped horrendously – in the early '90s I went to the pizzeria with MGM at least 4 times a month, now I go 4 times a year), B. has always blamed the previous governments, but in the last 15 years I have always seen him or Prodi, more him than Prodi.

The Che is a myth not just for the revolutions he fought for. The Che is a myth because instead of sitting around being a "politician" (in the pejorative sense of the term), he chose to dive into a new revolution. And I'm not here to consider whether his battles were right or wrong; rather, I was thinking that yesterday, while I was at GCIL FIOM preparing goodies for the members, and while I was struggling to fit some red hats into 17 x 40 bags, I thought: "What the hell are we doing with these hats? Let’s just put a Beretta in there and maybe someone will wake up!"
