@Princess Skifia: yes, you are absolutely right, in fact that's a piece by Wagner that somehow wants to express titanism, the will to power of man who asserts himself over pre-established morality. I believe that piece is simply a masterpiece, the musical expression of the idea of the Übermensch of Nietzschean origin. After all, Nietzsche was a great friend of Wagner as well as a great admirer of his music. I'll see you here when I've listened to the CD. A kiss.

Well no, my nickname is a tribute to the great Friedrich Nietzsche and his "Thus Spoke Zarathustra." Anyway, in the end, you convinced me to listen to them; it's not a bad first review, right??? :-)

However, it is also true that there is much worse.

The singer's voice is the best thing about this band, it's absurdly fierce... for the rest, I don't really like them at all, the only track I would save is Whorehouse Blues, which shows that they know how to play and sing blues. However, it's not a compliment since they don't play blues but metal. If I were them, I would change genres.

Sorry, I meant to say don’t worry about the analyses, don’t believe that everyone who writes ... etc.

Well, they've always made me feel uneasy, not their music (which I've never had the courage to listen to, I don't know why) but them, really. I’ll have to make up my mind one day or another. The review is very nice and is appreciated a lot for its simplicity. I liked you right away too... However, in my opinion, next time you should talk more about the album and not about the analyses; don’t assume that everyone who writes on this site is an expert... See you soon!

Great review, I agree with your overall judgment of the album: the Red Hot are less genuine than they used to be, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an excellent record, far superior to By The Way, which had left me puzzled as well. Of course, it would have been better to “smash” everything together, making a 15-track album that, in my opinion, would have had a much greater impact. But overall, I believe there is reason to be satisfied (just don't expect anything groundbreaking). There are some really strong funk tracks, although completely stripped of the rough edges that made them great. From this perspective, the album might be too clean and polished (as well as blatantly catchy) to be embraced with enthusiasm by us longtime fans. And then, while it's true that Frusciante's guitar inspires almost all the tracks, it's also true that Flea and Smith are somewhat subdued. That's the power of commercialization, after all.
@squalo: I believe you might like this album, given the variety of offerings and the central role of the guitar. Let's say he plays it with a more "Hendrixian" approach here, sounding slightly more aggressive, although at more than one point he seems like The Edge. I find that the guitar sounds very different from how it did in By The Way (and also in Californication).
