just 2 stars for this band, from my side... and yes, cheerful and silly punk-rock should appeal to me... it's a shame that Sloppy Seconds have never really captivated me... the singer doesn't have a particularly irresistible voice, and when it comes to songwriting, creativity (essential for this type of music) is quite lacking... a few decent covers (Jet Plain, Vacation), but nothing remarkable otherwise... a minor band, imho...

immense group, rather: immense Kirkwood...even if this "Up on the sun" now had almost nothing to do with indie...it's a sophisticated, intellectual, introverted country-rock album...contemplative music, devoid of fire, noise, and screams...a splendid album in any case...

Well, in my opinion, Germs, Black Flag, etc... Ness's band doesn't really fit in with them... they played a rather mild punk, still stuck in '77 (Clash, Heartbreakers)... I'm not crazy about it... their most successful track remains, in my opinion, "It wasn't a pretty picture," an elegant stroll along a boulevard of shattered dreams: bitter and disillusioned, but always with heads held high...
