Billy Wilder Baciami Stupido
Voto:
immense Wilder, one of the top 10 American directors of the 20th century, imho...The Apartment is not a film: it’s LIFE...oh, but what melons Novak had! :-O

Ultravox Ultravox!

I understand... however, I find these early Ultravox more interesting than those of Ure for the same reasons you mentioned... you see the Ultravox of the first album as scattered, while I consider them eclectic, imaginative, unpredictable... you view the proposal of Ultravox from "Vienna" onwards as homogeneous, whereas I find it monotonous... a matter of taste, in my opinion... there are those who prefer music subject to various influences and those who prefer "something simple but done well"... then there's also a question of sound: I prefer the early Ultravox because they are more rock... regarding Slip Away, I mentioned waltz for the "Viennese" atmosphere that the song suggests to me, more than for stylistic reasons... thanks for the mega-comment! :-) ...and a greeting to everyone who has passed through this page...
Hüsker Dü Flip Your Wig

In my opinion, there are at least two excellently produced albums by the HD: Metal Circus and New Day Rising... just try putting on your headphones (I know: you’ve probably done it a billion times! ;-D) at full volume with Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill: you’ll hear all, but really all, the nuances of the wall of guitars... every layer stands out perfectly, whereas in other Huskers albums the sound is much more flattened... regarding Warehouse, I believe that on a compositional level it reaches even higher peaks than Flip Your Wig (almost all of Mould's tracks, plus Too Much Spice, It's not peculiar, and especially No reservations)... then for me, She Floated Away is enough to declare the greatness of Warehouse: a heartfelt Celtic melody drowned in chaos, fantastic...

a nice album, despite the usual questionable production...better than Candy Apple Grey anyway...I believe that both records serve a bit as a prelude to that masterpiece called Warehouse...there are several standout tracks on Flip Your Wig, from Every Everything (in the style of Squirrel Bait) to Games (with that chorus that sticks in your head)...fantastic also is Flexible Flyer, with its graceful rhythm and lightness...however, there’s also the worst song of their career (Hate Paper Doll, quite funny)...ah, of course Bad Religion are ESSENTIAL, got it Fest?! ;-)
Lewis Milestone All'Ovest Niente Di Nuovo
Voto:
masterpiece...at times, it anticipates the golden age Renoir...incredible for its content (anti-militarism in the 30s, 7 years before La Grande Illusion), admirable for its form (naturalistic approach enriched by a highly mobile camera)...

Angry Samoans Back From Samoa

a small classic of hc... Gas Chamber is PHENOMENAL... Steak Knife doesn't joke around either... the grunge of Jerry Curlan is the icing on the cake and confirms the execution skills, the flair, and the liveliness of these outrageous Californians...
Circle Jerks Wild In The Streets
Voto:
flaccid, soft, incredibly boring... the CJ were born and died with the quarter of an hour of Group Sex, an ESSENTIAL hc album...
