I heartily thank you, Patty; I’m glad you read my reviews... I saw that you wrote three; I’ll read them tonight (although of those three, I only know Zucchero)...

Then there are Merchandise and Styrofoam (two "modern dances"... oh yes...). Repeater, which seems (seems!!!) like a flashy yo-yo crossover, and instead it kicks ass (with finesse, though...) and transmits a "positive," streetwise energy; Greed, which is seriously cerebral; Blueprint, their "Laughing" (more or less, and without the brass jam); Shut the Door, where Fugazi dives into post-rock! What an album! What guitars, what rhythm, what vocals! What a band!!!

A summary of 10 years of evolution, from straight-edge to emo, passing through noise and jazz-core. Fugazi were the Pere Ubu of hardcore. Repeater, at certain moments, feels like a paraphrase of Modern Dance (not for the sounds, but for the structure of the tracks, especially the rhythmic constructs, but not only…). Repeater is also an example of sophisticated, technical, complex music, even without containing solos and para-progressive virtuosities. The opener Turnover is stunning, when it shifts gears, heading towards the refrain… mmm, chills… and Sieve-Fisted Find, which changes scenery every other moment, and without you even realizing it, propels you into the abyss...

Nice review: it captures the essence of Fugazi's message, especially in the dreamlike finale. I agree with Easy regarding the technical aspect: this part of the review "......garage ("Merchandise") and punk ("Brandan n.1"), emocore ("Shut The Door") and raucous punk (the title track) funk and splashes of metal (the opening track "Turnover"), unexpected melodic openings ("Reprovisional")… filthy attitude, above all, in body and spirit..." indeed left me a bit perplexed... An unmissable album. A masterpiece of post-hardcore. Dry, synthetic, with not a note too much. Austere. Jagged. Gray. Cutting.

A classic, but I prefer Wish You Were Here. Beautiful Breath and especially On the Run! And also Money! I've never loved Time that much, though.

Beautiful Michi! Come on, I give you a 5, it’s clear that you like sweet Liz :-D I don't know the Cocteau Twins well enough to judge them, but this review is definitely the kind that encourages you to get closer to their dreamy world...
