Mercury stated that he has never taken singing lessons. As for Taylor, in my opinion, he is not a great drummer, but his performances on the first 4 albums and on Innuendo are noteworthy. Even in the song "I want it all" he rocks hard!!!

And on YouTube there's a video of a JL live show (where they play Seasick), where Yow gets hit by a water bottle!

3) Is Mercury a clone of Jim Morrison????!!!! Poletti, I warn you, this is worse than Mister Nico's gimmick! 4) Hard Life and Open Windows don't seem to me to be "of any musical interest" at all. 5) Finally, you didn't say much about the songs you slammed: you could have at least mentioned how the much-criticized Radio Ga-Ga sounds (I don’t know, a hint at the electronic arrangement). 6) The worst part is that someone reading this miserable review doesn't get a clear idea of the style and sound of this disco. Oh dear, Long Live Li'...(you’re lucky that on this site the Queen don’t have as many fans as the VU...:-D)

Poletti strikes back! The horror of the review on VU&Nico wasn’t enough: the good (???) Polettazzo wanted to up the ante with this grotesque and delirious analysis (??????) of Works. Let’s be clear: this is one of the least successful albums by Queen (in my opinion), and this review is even more disgraceful. 1) Queen overrated??? But by whom??? Don’t tell me it’s the critics, or I’ll strike you down! 2) The Works is a duplicate??? A duplicate of what??? Which other Queen albums before The Works sound like The Works?

My musical instruments are: jew's harp, kazoo, harmonica, out-of-tune acoustic guitar, Bontempi melodica, makeshift percussion. It's my little self-managed lo-fi orchestra. ;-) How about you?

Well, on the other hand, what is rock for the "system" (whether red or black) if not costume, fashion, a generational symbol (ENOUGH WITH THE SIXTIES KIDS!!! YOU'VE BROKEN THE BALLS!!!!!! NEVER TRUST AN HIPPY!!! All those fifty-year-olds who brag because they were part of '68 need to understand that the Descendents' generation has suffered and fought more and better than they did, only they did it quietly, with humility, without hypocrisy, rediscovering a value that had long been lost: individualism). Speaking of individualism, REGULAR (unfailing individualist ;-D), tell me a bit about Rapeman; did you expect them to be this rattling?

The other day on TG2, an Italian composer (I can't remember the name) discovered America: the melodies of the Beatles are identical to those of the centuries-old "canzone napoletana"... and off he went praising the Beatles as geniuses because they supposedly "rediscovered" the Neapolitan tradition (a tradition that, to be fair, has never died and can be found in 90% of Western pop throughout history, including our own: remember Happy Together by the Turtles? There you go...).

@ Sanjuro: I agree with you, I don't know if there's more to the TG1 services dedicated to the usual Bitols, Rollistons, Pinfloi, Ericclepton, Secspistols, Youtu' (who have always called themselves U-Due, but today it sounds trendier to say it in English, probably on the advice of the record label of the Irish band: you know, you can't win over the new generations of phone maniacs without using some trendy, chic, cool slang). Not once has that scoundrel Mollica talked about Television, Pere Ubu, Minor Threat, Jesus Lizard... For them, the history of rock ended in 77, except for Madonna, MJ, U2, REM, The Boss... American indie rock for them is synonymous with Nirvana (only because Cobain has kicked the bucket, otherwise who would care?).
