"...come to hear the uncle john band by the river side..." that's how it went, right? :-) no 5 stars no, too many...anyway, the length of the record is just right: half an hour, what more do you want?? great style, but I prefer the early gratefuls, the electric ones...my favorite remains Cumberland Blues...perfect review.

But the Cleveland group would be Devo or Pere Ubu? (which were actually from Akron, the rubber city, or am I getting confused?) :-/

Fidia, I take the liberty of replacing, in your previous post, the word "curati" with "sparati": doesn’t it sound better? :-D

I quote Fidia! Oh my, what a hottie Arquette is! She may be just one meter and 50 tall, but you know: good wine comes in small barrels! :-)

let it be clear: when I said that you cannot compare "primitive" African/Asian music with the "cultured" music of Reich, I did not intend to make a value judgment... I simply wanted to assert the fact that they are two different approaches, one more instinctive, the other more studied.

Stunning. Finally, after so many fakes, we found a great reinforcement. Welcome Khachacha. Let’s keep this up! ;-)

I'm sorry, Leonida, but there's something that doesn't add up: first you say I was doing so well before I uttered the fateful word ("Art"), yet then you lament (I say this loosely...) about my previous discourse regarding Reich and Riley... :-/ So, I'll try to be clearer: for me, Art is an expression of something (an idea, a feeling, an emotion, an ideology, etc...)... there is no Art for its own sake... if something is for its own sake, it is not Art (the so-called "mannerist" painters did not create paintings for their own sake, but paintings that were an expression of the concept of "beauty")... regarding the discussion on the history of minimalism: one cannot compare primitive music with what was done (scientifically) by Reich (although, it should be noted, the minimalists were inspired by traditional African and Asian music)... in any case, I don't care about the innovative aspect: OV is incredibly dull, self-referential, arid (minimalism is the art of drawing the maximum expressive range from the minimum of harmonic means, something that Orthrelm, in my opinion, did not manage to do)... anyway, don't worry, because tomorrow I will probably have already changed my mind ;-D

well...a bit better in the second part, but we're still stuck: this is NOT Art! and it will never be...not even in a few years, when robots will have completely replaced humans.
