In my opinion, the progressive, exasperating, and imaginative peak, beyond Pawn Hearts and even Passion Play, was reached by the Yes of tales; after that, an inexorable descent began. It's true that the ascent wouldn't have been (assuming it would have happened anyway...) so irresistible without the court hearing...
