The Eagles The Eagles

I have never loved the Eagles; I believe they skillfully leveraged the insights of the country-rock myths that came before them to create a product that is undoubtedly pleasant, stylistically perfect (not by chance their greatest hits album is the best-selling album of all time in America, even more than Thriller), but in my opinion, soulless. They represent country rock somewhat like Bush or Silverchair represent grunge. They have sold much more than certain prime movers, but the heart is truly another thing.

What a drag. What’s the need to take space away from those who argue seriously?

Well done, really excellent pick-up. I love this album.
Neil Young Harvest Moon
Voto:
Well done donjunio, "harvest moon" is a fabulous album. Much more organic and cohesive compared to the immense "Harvest," which had a few redundant tracks like "there's a world" or "Words," although of course those 4 or 5 masterpieces made up for it. Along with sleeps with angels, it's Neil's swan song. From hank to hendrix in particular has a beautiful melody.

Sure, 5 notches compared to On the Beach or Rust Never Sleeps might be excessive, but I’m not correcting a Latin version; for once, I'm giving a grade based on my emotions, and only when I listen to Harvest Moon or Sleeps with Angels can I imagine myself beyond this phase of my life. This is my judgment on the record, and I wanted to share these thoughts with you and hear yours. As for Festwca: I didn’t say that Natural Beauty is on par with Ambulance Blues, a song that is one of the peaks of rock for me. I said it holds its own in comparison, precisely because it serves a similar function to its predecessor while unfolding different content, a fitting closure – for music and lyrics – to the atmospheres of the "harvest moon." Bye!

Thank you for your comments. I really love "Harvest Moon," maybe more for what it represents in Neil's story, for its poetic style, for what it has conveyed to me than for its intrinsic value. My judgment is heavily biased, exquisitely emotional: few of Neil’s albums have struck me like this one. I don’t seem to have written that the sound blend of "Harvest Moon" is among the best ever made by Neil, but that anyone who loved ā€œHarvestā€ can buy this album sight unseen, because the quality is truly high. There is no dichotomy between those two albums: Harvest was the work of a confused and hopeful 26-year-old, while Harvest Moon was created by a 46-year-old who has come through 20 tumultuous years and conceives a contemporary album to reconcile memories and dreams.
I have therefore emphasized that this soundscape was, for Neil (at least in the idea I’ve formed), the most suitable to close certain circles and to develop some aspects of his poetics, and this, in my opinion, gives it a completely unique quality, and it is clear that my judgment is fundamentally based on that.

Daft Punk have done some good things on "Homework". A couple of decent singles with "Discovery", while here they really hit rock bottom.
