Mogwai Live @ Qube, Roma, 19.04.2006
Voto:
Hi Trellheim. I attended the concert in Milan. In the past year, I had also been to the concerts of Giardini di Mirò and Sigur Ròs, just to stay within the "post" realm, but Mogwai are really a step above. Absolutely amazing. Perhaps they are starting to wear thin on record, but live they are outstanding.
At the concert I saw, they played Helicon 1 (and not the 2), I Know You Are But..., Ratts Of The Capital, and before the encore, Mogwai Fear Satan, which might still be their most beautiful "song."
Cheers.

Well, you could have done the review much, much better. It feels like reading an elementary school essay. You don’t provide any points of reference to describe the album to someone who hasn’t heard it before. As for the music videos of this album, the Tool have let me down a bit: the videos for schism and parabol are somewhat ugly and banal compared to the previous ones (I’m referring to Sober, Stinkfist, and Prison Sex). Bye.
Marlene Kuntz H.U.P. - Live In Catharsis
Voto:
Well, I saw them live twice and they always improvised a lot... simply, on this record they wanted to present versions that are closer to the studio tracks. Between 1999 (with "ho ucciso paranoia") and 2001 (with the "che cosa vedi" tour), Marlene Kuntz reached their artistic peak (including this live album). The review significantly undervalues this live performance, but since I'm biased, I won't judge it.
bye
The Chemical Brothers The Private Psychedelic Reel [single]

I wouldn't want to say something stupid... but didn't you forget to mention that this track is the collaboration between the Chemical Brothers and Mercury Rev??? It doesn't seem like a small thing to me...

It has been said about this record: "it sounds like Black Sabbath meeting Joy Division." Is it true? Unfortunately, I don't have it. I guess I'll go get it as soon as possible.
