THE REVIEW

What is "The Private Psychedelic Reel"?

A journey lasting 9 minutes and 21 seconds. Or the closing song of that work as pure as a diamond called "Dig Your Own Hole"? Why review just this single? Because this song encapsulates all the magic, beauty, strength, skill, and genius that the two chemical brothers know how to steal from the world of dreams and transform into music. Dreaming. That's it. Closing your eyes and letting go completely.

A hypnotic sitar sound that cradles me... psychedelic sounds... and then off into space... and everything becomes dark... that's what it is. A journey, a song that I wish would never end. They tried. 9 minutes and a handful of seconds are too few. The desire to dream. To never stop dreaming. The closing song of all their concerts... and you wish it would never end. 1000 sensations all at once. 1000 colors. A song that gets into your head and never leaves. Like when you listen to "Surface To Air" contained in "Push The Button".

Magic, sleight of hand, miracles... call them what you want. But only two people on the face of the earth can create such wonders. The best.
