The whipping boy aren't bad... but I remember the first album better. As for Dodgy, okay... I just need to decide which album to go with among the first three... (I won't consider the last one on the advice of a friend who said it sucks)... I'm leaning more towards the first one... doing the last one would be too predictable ;)

Target, you are my idol! Of course, I forgive you, because I wanted to write this review myself, as a good follower of Brit. I have both albums of the gentlemen you described. Anyway, I don't know if you know this, but they come from the ashes of another interesting Brit-pop group: Kinky Machine... get something and then let me know ;)

I am a fan of the Kinks, but unfortunately I only know a few scattered songs and I have Village Green P.S. which I honestly hold as a milestone, it's a fantastic album...and anyway, I absolutely need to get my hands on this Face to Face...otherwise what do we do, not vote for the album? ;)

This album is a true masterpiece! Yet it is just a fragmented collection... this is where the greatness of Gomez lies in the end! I have all of them, but I had to get How We Operate online because it wasn't released in Italy -.-... oh well.

great review great album...the best of the band anyway...the crane wife I need to listen to properly...but this one is truly legendary!!! All beautiful songs...underrated band anyway and not well-known

Absolutely agree... when "stop the clocks" came out, I wanted to write a review in the same tones as yours. I think exactly like you do! Even about the album rating. Sure, the songs they included are not "bad," but the fact that there are no other milestones in the band's discography and especially that there are no new tracks: well, that really makes me angry!!!
