..here it is!! "Charisma" is definitely at the top of the list! I must say, as a director, I don't mind it at all: it has a certain "cleanliness" of image that I quite enjoy. Give Kairo another chance: it’s not a masterpiece and the premise isn’t original at all, but it’s easily found in Italian and I think it deserves a look! Sorry if I'm jumping from one director and genre to another, but I've been trying for months to find someone who has seen Aronofsky's latest: are you by any chance among the few "chosen ones"?!.. I still can't figure out if it's a stroke of genius or a joke.. :D!

But this page is A MA ZING!! :DD!!.. but excuse me Flin, how long have you been living with all this gravel in your shoes?!?!.. @nickghost: last week I went to my bookseller and asked for Il Pornitorinco. My bookseller said to me: "I don't have it, but I'll order it for you. Come back in a week." This morning I went back to my bookseller. My bookseller told me: "They didn't bring it to me. I'll try to reorder it for you.. but I can't guarantee anything..". What do you think that means?!?

Anno is a genius... but like many geniuses, he seems to have a tendency to lose the thread of the narrative a bit too often. With him, things get so cryptic that I can't tell if it's because I'm foolish, or if he himself has lost track of what he writes. Lately, I've been trying to get my hands on some films by Kiyoshi Kurosawa: so far I've seen Cure and Kairo, both good. I've read the plots of his other films and they seem interesting... too bad that unless I learn Japanese, nothing will come of it! :DD!

@s4doll: I actually regret getting around to it last... in the end it felt to me (here comes the blasphemy..) almost like the perfect blend of Conan + Nausicaä (ecology, two kids hunted by the bad guys, fake villains who become friends...). Let’s be clear: we’re still talking about a product of the highest level (just think about how much influence it had on the screenplay of "Il Mistero della pietra azzura"), perhaps I would have preferred to see it in a longer-term project, rather than in a single film. As it stands, it feels too concentrated...

...or you can send us a photo of you trying to pay the bill at the restaurant where you celebrated your first communion with copies of the album.. P.S.: but when Puni had his first communion, was there still mass in Latin?!?

..or take a picture of the record stuffed between two slices of bread, while you pretend to take a bite out of it.. that way we might avoid seeing your underwear.. :DD!

But thank you all so much!! Writing this review has been a real struggle: I actually wrote it at the office, skipping coffee breaks!:DD! I apologize for any typos that slipped in due to the "rush".. @Purpulan: to be honest, I try to review only one work for each artist. I would have liked to talk about La Città Incantata, but it would have turned into a ridiculously lengthy review.. I already suffer from chronic review diarrhea, and if I start talking about certain films, I’ll never stop! It's better to leave the burden and honor to other reviewers who are much more prepared and much more concise. Personally, I have always found "Porco Rosso" beautiful, but I've also read that Miyazaki doesn't particularly love it.. I wonder why.. @Vincent: I recommend his entire filmography.. he practically never misses a beat: in fact, Howl's Moving Castle is considered by many to be his weakest work.. which says a lot!:D! Personally (and here I'm risking blasphemy..) the one I enjoy the least is Laputa, but maybe that's because it was the last one I watched.. Thanks again to everyone!

..when I found out there was a movie in the works about GR, I felt a chill.. When I discovered that the lead actor would be the one I hate the most in the world, I felt frozen.. when I read that the director was the same one behind that crap Daredevil, I was left in complete shock.. One day I will find the courage to watch this film, but for now, I am voting the review..
