Dire Straits Brothers In Arms
Voto:
Dear Dante (hope you don’t mind the familiarity; -)), it’s always a pleasure to read a comment—even a year later—about "Brothers In Arms". Indeed, Dire Straits are (and have been) my passion. I still believe that, beyond personal judgments, I am quite consistent with my opinions, or at least I hope so. Perhaps it’s the same passion that connects you to the great Frank Zappa, whose reviews I have enjoyed reading. The opening riff of "Money For Nothing" might have been inspired by the iconic "Jumpin' Jack Flash", regarding the initial succession of the riff. However, I believe you must have found countless riffs like that; still, let’s not accuse the great Mark Knopfler of plagiarism, since the type of sound and the time signatures are quite different. Now that you mention it, we could take shots at our compatriot Antonello Venditti, who for the chorus of "Ci Vorrebbe Un Amico" might have drawn from the beautiful "Dancing In The Dark" by Springsteen from "Born In The U.S.A.".

Good record and clear are the words that describe it. Let's not forget that "Piece Of Mind" is not the only "Piece" of Heavy Metal.... Enjoy listening!

A record that helped spread a wing of that genre which has brought so much delight to the ears of those who appreciate a melodic and tasty street rock.......do you remember that handsome look they had, right? The resurrection continues.....

It's nice to remember the great records: some might use the review to dust off a record that's been set aside, while others who have never heard it might go discover it. It would be great for both cases to find some motivation in all of this, perhaps spending a few more words on its content (...better if in correct Italian) and mentioning the real titles of the tracks rather than sketches (maybe it was better to write: You Shook Me All Night Long, Let Me Put My Love Into You, and Given The Dog A Bone), see you next time.
Paul Simon Still Crazy After All These Years

A record definitely worth listening to and enjoying, like a large part of the discography of one of the greatest American singer-songwriters.
Concise and comprehensive review.
AA.VV. Apocalypse Now (Soundtrack)

Good review for the soundtrack of a film that has "honorably" marked the filmography of Vietnam... yes, perhaps it's not exactly easy to comment on a soundtrack... anyway, good job.

I can only be pleased to see that a record from 25 years ago still sparks some interest. Let’s start by saying that the score I gave is more a result of a lack of debasers than my stinginess (well, there are some "true misers" on this page too). In fact, unfortunately, the range of five points to work with is quite limited, and if half points were ever introduced, it wouldn’t be such a bad thing!!! (... and so maybe they won’t publish anything else in my name;-). Anyway, without any hesitation, I would have given it a 3.5, also in light of the scores assigned to the other albums by The Police (I think andy66 has provided good reasons for a 4!).
As for the meaning of the cover, I am almost certain that the theory of 666 is unfounded, and I defer to what the "eminent" Fosca and Iside have said.
It’s also nice to know that there’s someone following me closely, even hopping around in the comments of Dire Straits... and a greeting to everyone.
Oh, I almost forgot... the 5 that I give myself, consider it simply as a manifestation of respect towards you, since if I didn’t think what I write was worthy of such an evaluation, it would really seem crazy to expect you to dedicate some of your time to me...;-)

Well, passion aside, which you certainly don’t hide, dear "effettonotte", you have definitely enriched the review with some "biographical gems" that many will enjoy knowing. For the rest, it's a performance by Litfiba that true fans of Pelù's former band should be familiar with.
Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti

a strongly appreciated album even if it may not have what it takes to become a classic, but still a good album.
