THE REVIEW

There are albums that change the history of a band.

For AC/DC, the album that changed their history is definitely Back in Black, the best-selling, most famous, and perhaps the most beautiful of their discography. This album earned them a ton of money, turning them into genuine rock stars, and contributed to selling their previous records, but more than that, this album made them legends of rock, like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. In fact, if until then they had recorded excellent albums, they were still a great band, but not a legend. Instead, with this album, they definitively enter the history of rock, and furthermore demonstrate great character, continuing this rocker life, even after the tragic death of the legendary, unique, and incomparable Bon Scott.

The album opens with the famous bells to remember the old singer, and then immediately delivers a magnificent gem, "Hells Bells", starting with an arpeggio and then exploding into its fantastic chorus. "Shoot To Thrill" and "What Do You Do For Honey Money", are two excellent pure hard-rock songs, without rock n' roll and blues overtones. With "Give The Dog A Bone" the qualitative level drops, but with the three subsequent tracks, it returns to perfection, with the usual chord progression that's quite simple to play and remember. They are the "title-track", "You Shook Me All Night" and "Let Me Put Love In You".

It continues with other good songs, overshadowed however by the previous masterpiece, but it concludes with "Rock And Roll...", a song with an intense rhythm, and typical blues, blues that arises only here in this album.

Back in Black features pure Hard Rock: a blend of meticulously crafted melodies and amphetamine solos that boldly emerge from Angus Young’s Gibson.

This nonetheless remains the best work of the Australian Rock band, and I believe it is one of the best albums Hard Rock has ever had.

"Back In Black is entirely dedicated to Bon, from the title to the cover, it’s a tribute to him."

"Everything comes from the rhythm: it is the base and the 'feeling' of what we play. We want people to physically feel the energy we release."
