Prince One Nite Alone Live!
Voto:
Dear Massimino, it happens very rarely, but I absolutely agree with everything you've said, down to the last comma. However, I wonder if it's possible to make an ideal ranking between two such different yet complementary personalities, like Zappa and Prince. I also find 3121 a good product, infinitely superior to the bland "musicology," which, being bland and being from these years, is the only one to have had a bit of success...

Thank you, first of all. Then, if I have to share my opinion, I read the book and it's frankly a useless work, interesting only for the purist philologist. It's clear that a great artist often has a personality you wouldn't expect. Amen...: it's the records we need to pay attention to, and there are plenty of those... however, on this note... I may be a bit fanatical, but I've never heard the "ghost of Chet"... the last recordings of his life, both studio and live, or at least the ones I know, are beautiful (my other review, "hart of the ballad" with Pieranunzi, is anything but a minor album, even if it might be "commercially" so... and it's definitely the last studio recording).
Edoardo Bennato e Alex Britti Notte di mezz'estate

Morgan... well... Rino Gaetano is, in my opinion, a highly overrated legend. Bennato during his golden years was infinitely superior to me. L'uomo occidentale had some moments of clarity, but also endless ugliness: "america... don't be too harsh with the severity" (or something like that...) is one of the ugliest lines in the history of written words as well as sung ones...
Enzo Jannacci Live@RTSI 27.12.1986

massimino: only 3 stars because despite everything it's a flawed concert, with many imperfections, and because if you give 5 stars to the best studio albums... well... this one deserves 3. but they are 3 good ones. Lexus: how old are you? (if you're already pissed off it means you're young and you blame yourself...) anyway Jannacci is to Zelig what Jarrett is to Moira Orfei.

thanks to everyone (excluding the anonymous…). Bennato represents my biggest musical disappointment: up until "è arrivato un bastimento" he was objectively fantastic. Regarding the right/left opportunism discussion, if it's true that Edo made that statement, the solution is simple: he’s lost his mind, and it shows clearly in what he writes. about Britti the wannabe: he’s a technician, nothing more. There are guitarists who have been playing the same 4 pentatonic notes their whole lives but have made history in guitar. Britti is an overambitious little technician, useless and talentless: he might work in a musically awful era like this one…

x DoctorJ: sorry... given your comment: I missed it. To say that Vasco from the first 4 albums didn’t invent anything would require a corollary: who was doing that stuff then? both in Italy and elsewhere...? a detailed and reasoned response can be discussed: no slogans, no banalities (and calling someone a pirla isn’t that great of an insult... for many reasons I consider myself a bit of a pirla too).

Well done: great Capossela. 35 euros for a nice concert is nothing.

bartlebioom: look, "pezzi" and "calypsos" are more beautiful than love in the afternoon... trust me: since you just left it not long ago (it's harder to convince someone who abandoned it from "scacchi e tarocchi"...), give it a try. trust me, you won't regret it. doctor: the more I know you, the more I like you (to have a definitive judgment though, I would need to know your super-secret tastes... fiulèi)

Doctor... why do you get angry that I don't see any of your comments...!? Paranoia or do you write the nasty comments under another name...!? Bah... anyway, it's true, I, along with 3/4 others, are the best. Thanks. Get to know each other better, so maybe we can argue properly, ragazzi.

true pearl...so, back when there were extra tracks...remember...they used to make these mini albums, often with absolute masterpieces (sometimes misunderstood even by the authors themselves). remember, for example, "Ciao a te" and "Madonna disperazione" from the tiny Qdisc by Dalla...? well done, beautiful and -alas- old mention
