Personally, I consider the first two and the last one (LA Woman) to be the best by far. No underestimation, neither for Jim nor for the others... This reopens a very old debate: the usefulness of compilations. I’m not a big supporter of them, I have to say: too often they leave out fundamental tracks even if they are "officially" considered minor and lose sight of the project behind each album (which is necessarily a child of an era, an idea, a way of feeling that is almost always unrepeatable...). Therefore, the advice I would give to the kids is to take the 3-4 periods of the Arte Battistiana, and from those, take the fundamental albums. Study them and if you like, go deeper by exploring the others (I think Lucio would have appreciated this method...). (primiballi.blogspot.com)
