and if Litfiba had been a somewhat overrated phenomenon...? sure, there were some successful hits, but the promises seem to have been significantly unfulfilled (Pelù is a good example of what I call "benign boiling")... (primiballi.blogspot.com)

As always, dear Poletti, I agree but not entirely...first of all, it would have been useful to underline that the duo Le Bon-Rhodes is not a novelty from the late '90s, but they were essentially already Arcadia. Then there are a couple of decent ballads on this album, and the rest is all too honestly foreshadowed by the "confessional" title. Of course, the Durans were not in their best shape (or lineup) here, but the history and qualities of the band will certainly be re-evaluated (and for technical reasons, not certainly subjective, and if you want, we can discuss it). As for the era of re-evaluations...well...I already adored Vitali and Banfi back then, which certainly didn't prevent me from loving Fellini, and to re-evaluate Pupo and fill him with gold, it was enough to have Berlusconi in power, it seems to me...

romantic&asshole, it's the perfect formula for the female... if someone is a true romantic and nothing else, generally they end up getting screwed (by women, without other meanings...) (maybe I'm a cowboy too)

Thank you for the compliments, but, Poletti, I don’t agree on some points: here Dalla is certainly felt, and it cannot be said that Dalla from "1983" can be judged the same way as today or even later. The sound of Dalla & Stadio in this record has everything, and, in my opinion, it fits perfectly. Here, the virtues of LC (without the flaws) are perfectly balanced with the atmosphere of Bologna back then and that sound, in addition to a strangely and absolutely inspired composition that could not have been achieved again: a single note from Dalla’s contralto back then is hardly comparable to any subsequent arrangement, especially from the 1992 album, which, in my opinion (unfortunately very far from yours), is the album of the end. The last album ("the band is breaking up," thus looking backward on very new sounds...), for various reasons, is even better than the one from '92 (which, by the way, we really enjoyed that album... well... that’s a whole other story... let’s just understand each other...) an LL album that I don't have (the 3 I have are splendid). nice review (and anyway, in the States he is far from unknown... a discussion somewhat similar to what has been said elsewhere about Colin Hay....) (primiballi.blogspot.com)

well...I see a certain passion for screamers...so in the female field, Celine Dion is a genius of the vocal cords...well...I think that in so-called light music and jazz, the standards are (and should be) absolutely different. An example: Bolton when he does Sinatra may do it well technically (I don't think so, though...) but the result is embarrassing. Cohen and Chet Baker have a thread of voice...but what a thread...........(primiballi.blogsp ot.com)

a polè...I don't quite agree...just two words "la storia," which would be enough to Secure the album a place in history (indeed). but there are also other beautiful tracks. from a harmonic point of view, the title track is gorgeous (and you can feel Fossati from back then), but also "ciao ciao" and others are definitely worth it. I only agree on the fact that, from here to a couple of albums, there will be a slight decline, only to rise again with the last 3, which I find absolutely valid (primiballi.blogspot.com)

the live is definitely the most difficult one by DeGregori, there's a lot of Dylan-esque vibes here, many pieces are made and unmade. it’s surely the last (in the long series) that I would recommend, but I obviously like it a lot (but I’m disgustingly biased). 2 more facts: "povero me" is a beautiful piece by Locasciulli (keep that in mind) and "mannaggia alla musica," a song that I believe is splendid, was already present on an old and beautiful album by Ron (even then it was recognized as the sole signature of the prince). I think a couple of things: surely an instrumental album would be nice, but I fear it's a hypothetical period of unreality...: unfortunately, Pino has too many eyes on the market, and he is definitely too artistically relaxed (let's hope he surprises us... obviously…). The second thing I say, however, is that more than once I've had the suspicion that the "little voice" is... more than being natural to him... if you think about it, there are some passages, even in the latest albums (see Medina, the best of the recent era), where the "big voice" almost comes back out. In my opinion, his heart problems have also played their part...: surely the doctor has imposed on him not to strain too much... but in the studio that wouldn't cause problems (recording one a day... right...???), while live it definitely does (but Battisti teaches us that concerts are not exactly mandatory, right?). Anyway, in my opinion, Uncle Pino still has all his skills, and that just makes me even angrier, and it's certainly an aggravating factor, not a mitigating one...(primiballi.blogspot.com)

Sometimes admitting that a questionable character has made a great album is a very difficult task that requires great humility and courage... just think about what it would mean if Bennato had made "la torre di babele" and then the discography from "pk Italia" onward... it would take quite a bit of courage to call the former great and the rest almost indecent... right...? It's about holding one's nose... but to deny that this was a great album seems impossible to me (knowing him well, of course)...
