This guy gave three stars to the country cousins and two stars to Radiohead: let’s hold on to him! He’s the kind of reviewer who keeps morale high.

I understand what you're saying, northernsky, but if we followed this reasoning, we would have 16,450 four- and five-star reviews: all enthusiastic, and it would really be a tremendous bore to read nothing but unrestrained praise. We also need some critical reviews... that Valerio Rivoli has the same ability to critique as a freshwater squid, that's another story. Hail To The Thief is, for me, a beautiful album; "There There" is one of the most emotionally powerful songs of the last 10 years. Who today has the technical ability to write a song like that? I don’t know, give me some names. Obviously excluding Cugini di campagna, who as everyone knows have a dreamy voice, unlike Thom Yorke: should we remove our balls?

Perhaps it's not clear to everyone that one can listen to whatever they want. It seems very reductive to think that we should only be curious about what we like. I can't stand prog, but that doesn't mean I don't listen to prog records, because they are part of the history of music and because having blinders on has never helped anyone, not even horses (sorry if I sound rhetorical, but it should work like this, right? Only arid people are not curious). If Thom Yorke's voice disgusts someone, that's their problem; it's their right to let us know. No one should prohibit them from expressing their sacred opinion. Whether that opinion is poorly framed is our right to inform them. The album is amazing, and it keeps growing for me. The review is half crap and half confetti.
