What do Le Mani have in common with Sugarfree, Il Nucleo, Le Vertigini, SuperB, Grandi Animali Marini, Ameba4, Gazosa, Deasonika, Rumorerosa, Concido, and Equ?

  1. they are all Italian pop groups with banal and repetitive lyrics
  2. they all have the same polished and limited sound
  3. sooner or later, they all end up going down the drain. Artistic lifespan: less than 3 years.

At first glance at the debut album of this band titled "In Fondo," I can't find any feature that makes this band from Matera different from the usual copy of an Italian pop group with a short lifespan and an even smaller following; it actually seems that record companies want their little band of puppets to spend money on and then let them wither with their hopes and dreams.

Mr. Universal, Mr. Warner, Mr. Sony, I would like to reveal a secret to you using this band as an example: these handsome 30-year-olds who sing about teenage crises and loves in Italian cannot appeal to 30-year-olds like me because adolescence is long over, and they don't appeal to 15-year-olds who cannot identify with soft rockers closer in age to their parents. Did the commercial successes of 883 and Finley teach you nothing (and of course, behind it, there is always the savvy mind of someone cunning like Cecchetto, who may be cunning but is not an idiot), did the chain failures of the aforementioned bands teach you nothing, that you are still producing this stuff? STILL?!?!? AND STILL?!?!?!? Then don't cry woes because the music market is in crisis, because this music maybe has a market only for the playback videos they air on Video Italia!!!

The problem is, I already know they are not the last on the list, there will be more (and here I could introduce you to a new—and at the same time old—band signed by Sony called Le Strisce? Many thanks to Le Vibrazioni for launching the 'le' trend). Okay, sorry, I let the review get out of hand, but don't worry, just read any old review of any Italian band suitable for Sanremo, and voilà, you'll already know how Le Mani sound.

I wonder at this point what sense it makes to continue like this; is producing music in Italy really afflicted by such foolishness?
