One of their works that I prefer, along with "The Bends". The review is great too, it's a shame it's the eighth ;-)

But at least I managed to see Amari, Settlefish, Cocorosie, Carl Craig, Bugge Wesseltoft, and Laurent Garnier live before the total meltdown. Not bad, right? :D

What can I say, I’m truly sorry for not being able (or willing?) to go up. The good QZ called me a lousy slacker, and he’s probably right (:D), but I was too "worn out" by some events from the past weekend to manage to go up. I think I missed a kick-ass live show, musically excellent and with a slightly off-key Gahan, but nonetheless captivating in terms of setting, crowd, and everything. I’ll try to make it up at the next situescion... Great review Viv, very heartfelt. Bye :-)

Absolutely disagree. While I am very attached to "The Fat Of The Land" (one of the first albums I bought in my life, back in '97), I believe both "Experience" and "Music For The Jilted Generation" can be placed a notch higher. The album that marks a band's commercial breakthrough is not always the peak of their production, and this is a glaring example... I don't think the review adds anything particularly new to what has already been said about the work in question; I would also have mentioned the stratospheric "Narayan" among the best tracks (thanks to the masterful featuring of Crispian Mills from Kula Shaker). Come on, review some new stuff :-)

Honestly, this "Pop-Rock influence" isn't something you feel very much, apart from the single "Poison" (which I see as being heavily influenced by black music and the Rap rhythms that were in vogue at the time). For me, it remains their darkest album, at times cryptic and visionary (think of the "Narcotic Suite", particularly "Claustrophobic Stink", one of my current favorites of theirs), a half step below the extraordinary manifesto of the Rave Generation "Experience", and one step above the overrated "The Fat Of The Land", which is still very valid. I don't mind the review, apart from that Dance among the DeGeneri. Nice.

Ahahaha, you reviewed Ciro's album! I wasn't at the showcase because I was outside Naples, but I listened to some tracks in preview on his blog and I didn't dislike them at all. Great job, Enzo! :-))
Mojave 3 Excuses For Travellers

An intense and practically perfect album, to listen to and listen to again in order to understand its subtle nuances. A review that's a bit too "emo" for my tastes, but for a Mojave 3 record, it can be more than understandable. Approved :-)

Great album, maybe not a masterpiece, but definitely one of the most representative of the period. "Mr. X" sounds too much like Kraftwerk! :-))
