Really, really beautiful! When this album came out (on July 4, 1994) the group invigorated the world of techno, at the time considered by the media as another expression of B-Music.
"Music For The Jilted Generation" was one of the first excellent examples where dance music approached the mainstream by merging with pop. This does not diminish the position of "Experience", another fine example, but in this second work, the pop-rock influence is more pronounced and direct. Just listen to "Their Law" and "Poison"; and not only that, considering it was marketed to a wider audience (No.1 in the UK and in great demand in the USA for the first time).
The period from 1994-1998 was, in the world and especially in Europe, a profitable time for the alternative music scene linked to a youth movement that wanted to break away from the usual predetermined interpretation schemes: just remember the rise of "Massive Attack", "The Chemical Brothers", "Fat Boy Slim", "Daft Punk", "Air", "Bjork", "Radiohead", etc., and "The Prodigy" are part of this history, leaving behind two fabulous albums like "Music For The Jilted Generation" and "The Fat Of The Land".

This second work by Liam and his companions presents itself to the listener in a more direct form, more studied, more influenced by the rock world, and packed (almost 80 minutes of music in 13 tracks). If we leave aside the intro, the suite opens with a nice techno classic "Break And Enter": breaking glass and bass that pushes and extends for 8 minutes.
Right after comes the first gem: "Their Law", an extraordinary influence of rock with heavy guitar and filtered microphones; pure energy that would pull you in even more if heard live. Another techno piece with "Full Throttle" and the hit of hits "Voodoo People" that you can't help but listen to again (a famous track that is covered and remixed even today).
"Speedway" and "The Heat" in the middle of the album provide a hypnotic prelude to the other two tracks "Poison" and "No Good" which are among the most beautiful they have written in their career (great vibes for a night that rocks!).
Then there's the "Narcotic Suite" consisting of "3 Kilos", "Skylined", and "Claustrophobic Sting": a triad of tracks dedicated to those who use narcotics, or at least want to savor the effect. Hypnotic, dark, fascinating!

In short, if you love intense nights, dance, and alternative trails, I recommend you BUY THIS CLASSIC AND MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

Liam Howlett thus created interesting hybrids such as the legendary 'Voodoo People', a pounding breakbeat strengthened by an unforgettable synthetic guitar riff.

Listen to 'Music For The Jilted Generation' and you will hear one of the most representative albums of the nineties.

Without 'Music For The Jilted Generation,' we wouldn’t have listened to any of what we hear today.

'Poison' encapsulates acid-breakbeat, a scream from Keith Flint, and a memorable spoken word from Maxim about the potion-medicine he possesses.

The 'Prodigy formula' is fully encapsulated and perfectly synthesized in this album, which many say is 'their masterpiece' (oh dear...).

Techno-rock dynamics are rendered with far more skill in that masterpiece that is Underworld’s 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman', released two years before the Prodigy album.

This is a monstrous album, with driving drums, the metal techno track "Their Law", the very famous "Voodoo People".

At the time, they were creating one masterpiece after another and it’s only the second one!
