If it were a dodecagon, we would still be able to recognize its best side.

Beautiful reminiscence. Back then I was in high school and bought the cassette to prepare for the graduation exam. The philosophy teacher, during the test, asked me about anti-Hegelianism and then, visibly annoyed, said "Well, the way you present Hegel to me makes him sound like a clown." Elio was declining afterwards. So was I...

Beautiful introduction/invitation to the album. You have a lot of grace in guiding the reader. I would suggest linking a listen to the review [from "add a video"], in fact, I urge you...

Nice page, Freddo! It's been so long since I've been to the movies!

Beautiful review, Nonnulla! You tell it very well, as even with its calm and slow pace, it doesn’t let you go! Beautiful pastel-colored album, lovely somnambulant and dreamy singing.

Beautiful Taurus! I had been keeping an ear on the listening you posted. I'll throw in the other one too... Stratospheric cover.

Eha, good job Kloo, this little record isn't bad at all; it makes me think of Evol by Sonic Youth and Spiderland by Slint... However, my ace in the hole for 2022 is something else:

I don't have a record of a 45 RPM of this song by Bettye, written by John D. Loudermilk and performed since 1962 by various artists (Don Cherry first, Johnny Tillotson, Johnny Nash, Al Martino, the Casinos and many others; today up to 70 different interpreters).

The track, recorded in October 1968, is found on the album Bettye Swann – The Soul View Now! released in 1969 and included in subsequent compilations (the one from 2004, Honest Jon’s edition, is excellent). Betty Jean Champion was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on October 24, 78 years ago. Active since the early 60s, in the Southern Soul genre, she became famous in 1967 with "Make Me Yours" and retired from the music business in 1980.
