Afterhours Folfiri O Folfox

After the last two albums, I thought they were done for (to be honest, I listened to Padania only briefly, and the Milanese one was just awful), but this one inspires me. The second single is really a ballad in the style of "non è per sempre," and I liked it a lot. The first one, on the other hand, is kind of a mess. But the album truly inspires me.
Nicolas Winding Refn The Neon Demon

I've been waiting for it for a century; if I can, I'll go to the cinema. Only God Forgives is among my top 10 favorite films of all time. I'm expecting a lot from this.

I wasn't completely convinced. At a directorial level, it's excellent. It's a film that relies heavily on aesthetics and music, truly enjoyable in form. The problem is it's a bit lacking in substance: it's a work full of metaphors to dissect and interpret. Perhaps even too much. It feels like a later Cronenberg, super stylized and almost entirely neglecting the psychology of the characters. They probably deserved greater depth. The dialogues aren't exactly memorable either. I much preferred the lysergic surrealism of A Field in England. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Refn's latest; that will also be pure aesthetics, but the Dane is the best at doing these things. We'll see.

Quotes certainly fit to describe this distressing masterpiece. I would also suggest: "Two miseries in a single body" (Gaber)

Verdena Endkadenz Vol. 2

The only album by Verdena that just couldn't engage me. Volume 1, on the other hand, I really loved.

Stramadonna's album. When it comes to guitar work, few have done better in the noise scene during those years... just a certain Duane Denison. But he's a god.
Kevin Smith Red State

It didn't blow my mind. Kevin Smith, aside from a couple of films (including the excellent Clerks), has always made decent crap.
Wolfgang Petersen Troy

Mmmm, I remember it being pretty ugly and overly romanticized. I mean, any episode of Game of Thrones is written 200 times better... and it's a TV series.
