I agree with you. I think it's one of the most empty and irritating films I've ever seen. For me, Coppola is greatly overrated (could it be because of her dad?), I've always found Lost in Translation to be clever but nothing more. Sofia Coppola has great taste in soundtracks; the rest is fluff.
