Good film and nothing more, like all of Gray's works. He should dare a little more to really stand out. Theron looks stunning in this film.

Yes, a masterpiece. From Lynch, I might prefer Eraserhead; for me, another unreachable film. Inland Empire, on the other hand, made me sick. It feels like a parody of all his films in a 3-hour stew.

Really a good film. A couple of things: I found the fake long take a bit cloying at times, even though it is technically impeccable. I mean, I prefer, for example, a Scorsese (and thanks to kayser) who suddenly throws you an out-of-this-world long take, and bam, you’re left drooling. As for Inarritu, I’ve appreciated many of his other films much more, like Biutiful or Amores perros. And third, I liked Whiplash more, which builds crazy tension in musical situations, as if it were a battle in the trenches.

A film I've only seen the first 10 minutes of. From what I've gathered, it should be watched either when you're completely clear-headed and able to endure those exhausting shots and subjective angles, or when you're totally out of it. I started it one evening when I wasn't in great shape, expecting something entirely different, and I couldn't handle it. Since I really enjoyed Seul contre tous, I’ll try watching it again.
