Mine was not meant to be an objection to your reasoning. I just wanted to clarify that law enforcement is not always on the wrong side. Often, we find ourselves on the wrong side. And we pay the consequences. Sometimes, they find themselves on the wrong side. (And we pay the consequences for that, but that's another story.) I won't express my views on the coup debate. If you go to the stadium to cause chaos and the police crack down on you, that's your problem; it's part of a game of which you yourself are the architect. If you go to a demonstration armed with clubs or whatever because you’re convinced it's the only way to be heard, and they shoot you, that’s still your problem. You have the clubs, they have the guns. When you brandish the club, you knew that. If, however, you go with your whole family to peacefully march in a procession and at night the police storm the place where you’re quietly sleeping and beat you to death in your sleep, things change.

I would avoid the Palestinian-Israeli discussion because it's truly difficult, delicate, and hard, if not impossible, to resolve in just a few lines. Here we were talking about Genoa, and it's definitely easier to understand where reason and justice lie. The right's reasoning is this: you protest because you are communists, troublemakers, and terrorists, so we will beat you up, humiliate you, make you sing "Faccetta Nera" while kneeling on chickpeas inside a police station (my God, Chile has never been this close...), you'll go home with your tails between your legs, and next time you will think twice, you bastards! These are the reasons of the right... I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring the Israeli-Palestinian conflict into it to see where justice stands.
