So you're coming to ask me why I made that statement... okay: a story where the protagonists go around dressed as high school students in miniskirts and revealing blouses for three-quarters of the time, only to then strip down and "transform" into even more skimpily dressed heroines is at the very least absurd, if not downright ridiculous and the product of last-stage erotomania (please don't take this as a personal offense). If you want to overlook this "two-bit detail" and analyze the underlying values, then you're definitely too immersed in Japanese culture; you're more wrapped up in that culture than in the one your typical peers (schoolmates, neighbors, etc.) inhabit.

Moreover, I share the criticisms you have towards the Winx, but let's not forget that the Winx were accused of being a copy of Sailor Moon. Therefore, without SM, the Winx would have never existed; no one would have thought to create them. I conclude by emphasizing that there’s nothing wrong with appreciating Japanese culture (my nickname is proof of that), but we need to try to do so objectively, without blindly consuming whatever junk is thrown our way.
