I had oceanborn. When I saw their videos on MTV, when they were headlining concerts; when I saw that within six years they had become successful bands, I wondered if the world had suddenly gone mad.
Surely it's madness, or a sign of profound musical ignorance, to speculate that one of their live shows (end of an era) could be the best live performance in history.

I was 12 years old when my father went with a friend and refused to take me because he thought I was too young. The next day he said he regretted it because he had seen many kids my age the night before. Time passed and De André returned to tour in Milan when I was older, but there was no way I was going to a concert with my parents, especially since I was into metal and needed the money to buy CDs and concert tickets (adolescence really is the age of idiocy). Then came 1998, the death of Fabrizio, the impossibility of ever seeing him live. I will never forgive my father for not taking me out that night.
