Just off the top of my head, I think of Dari, or everything that comes out of Maria De Filippi, and then goes on to win at San Remo, or Lunapop and Cremonini, or even Pausini and Ramazzotti. If you think Baustelle are the worst that Italy has to offer, it means you consider all of these better, which makes me think that your taste is rather questionable. "Bianconi is really anonymous (to put it nicely) as a 'frontman,' he conveys nothing [...] Pierpaolo is someone who knows what he's doing at least." Bianconi is so anonymous that MTV decided to feature him (no musical merit, but you definitely have to know how to communicate with the audience using gestures to end up on MTV—one must be a true frontman... which doesn’t mean you need to know how to do anything beyond "hold the stage"). Pierpaolo Capovilla is known beyond just the theater fans, only by the customers of Osteria Bea Vita (and I repeat, I'm not saying one is better than the other, I’m just saying it makes me laugh to read so much bitterness towards one group and love for the other; then again, of course, everyone is free to think as they wish).

@teenage: to me, they seem like two really similar groups despite making diametrically opposed genres: they both appear to be bands that people listen to and then say, "Did you hear those lyrics??? How many quotes!!!" And musically, come on, they're original (although maybe the sounds of Baustelle are less clichéd compared to those of Teatro, who in the end play post-punk like others did about fifteen years before them)... I'm not saying they're crap, I'm just saying that labeling Baustelle as a pseudo-intellectual band is ridiculous if you then go and kiss the feet of Teatro. That's all.

I don't understand how one can praise the Theatre of Horrors for its singer-songwriter side, while denigrating Baustelle for their pseudo-intellectual aspect... I mean, is it too difficult to say that they are both bands for people who like to show off? (I don't know the album, the rating is based on trust)
