"If you think Caparezza is a rapper, you really haven't understood a damn thing." I can imagine what someone who tells me something like that must have understood after they stuck rap among the genres in their review. Then excuse me, but isn’t anyone who speaks in meters and rhymes over a musical beat a rapper? Look at how many things you have the opportunity to teach me. stinger: I don’t do it because abroad I wouldn’t find big assholes like you and thus I wouldn’t feel sufficiently intelligent (what do you think, did I get what trolling means?)

And while I'm at it: 5 of my best friends have moved abroad (England, England, England, England, and... guess what? Wrong! Germany) where they managed to find a job and live on their own, the most embarrassing thing about goodbye melancholy is that it's all true.

"We're talking about an artist who makes songs, not a poet who recites poetry," I thought we were discussing a rapper and I believed that in rap the lyrics are worth 1000 times more than the music, and I also thought that "non siete stato voi" was the best song on the album, and I believed that in the end, on debaser, to be a mainstream author, the boss has a great reputation. Then I came here and realized I didn't know anything. And since I don't know a damn thing, I ask you for information: what does "trollata" mean?

I should rewrite the comment above to make it understandable, but I really can't be bothered. The only thing I want to do is lock Darren in a room in front of Pi Greco, arm myself with tweezers for his hairs, make him tear up while Mansell comes out of the stereo yelling at him: "And without me, there's no way Hollywood would even give you a second glance."

darkeve: I know that shit of a movie is liked by more or less everyone, a bit like Dogville. Well, if I can understand that I am the problem with Dogville, and admit that it’s not shit, for Requiem for a Dream I just can’t do it. I’m sorry, do you like that movie? Are you someone who lets Aronofsky mess with you? The comments I remember about that film were all or almost all like this: "a movie that leaves no hope, pure degradation and depression." Yeah, okay, what themes did Pi represent? How was the cinematography in Pi? Ah, but in Requiem I see the amphetamines... Yes, I understand why so many people consider it a cool movie. Just between us, by the way, Requiem doesn’t even want to be a movie about drugs...

As you may have gathered from the rant above, after reading the first paragraph of the review, I stopped reading. I would say we think in a diametrically opposed way.

Aronofsky is cracking up! Damn, this is making me feel like I’m going through the same fate as Shyamalan (or however the hell you spell it): he comes out with a mind-blowing debut (Pi, the Elusive Equation) and I fall in love with that film (like Shyamalan with The Sixth Sense). So what do I do? Every time something of his comes out, I go and see it (as I did with Shyamalan until The Last Airbender, which forgive my arrogance, I thought was simply unnecessary and way past its prime for a fantasy), and every time I leave the theater I think: “Yeah, the first one you did was great, splendid, but then what the hell… it’s the last time you’re taking my money, asshole!” (like for… yes, you got it).
Now, it's true that cinema is in crisis because people download movies; but it's also true that people download movies because nothing decent is coming out in theaters (For me, nothing has come out since: "Let the Right One In", I hope you’ve been luckier than I have). I wonder, when the hell are films like: Man from Earth, Monsters, Cashback, Hunter Prey, Goemon, Frozen, I'm a Cyborg but That's OK (I threw in a few random genres here just to make the list as pretentious as possible) going to arrive? I read: “Aronofsky can make the viewer live for two hours the deepest self-destructive passion caused by the stress of dance.” Damn, Aronofsky has been making us feel self-destructive passions created from stress for 10 years, only back then he did it without resources and ingeniously created art (see Pi, of course), and now he does it with millions, Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, and the only thing he knows how to create is a “what a mess” for that little film (and then you explain to me why if you have a little film that hurts you, you have to slowly rip it off while trying to take the skin off half your hand?). We all know Aronofsky knows how to disturb and stress us (maybe not all of us have seen Pi, but for sure we all saw that garbage called Requiem for a Dream), but can he do anything else? Is he capable of reinventing himself at the desired levels, or from now on will his cinema just be the search for a film made to scandalize priests and old ladies from church? I don't know how long it had been since I left the cinema so pissed off. Maybe it had never happened before. “Black Swan nominated for 5 Oscars!!!” and me thinking that the Oscar is an award that doesn’t mean a damn thing, I've been saying that for years.
