Robert Rodriguez Machete
Voto:
I'm sorry, but we’re not on the same page: the film is not Rodriguez's alone; it’s Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis. The idea is obviously Rodriguez’s, but it's likely that the Texan had no desire to direct the film, so he handed it over to Maniquis and, as the father of the frontier machete, rightly took credit as director. The film falls short for various reasons: first, it’s not a Robert Rodriguez film; it’s written by Rodriguez and directed by a Maniquis who references Rodriguez. Second, if you want to make a trash film that earns millions of dollars and hits theaters worldwide, it’s not enough to have done Grindhouse and come out of it unscathed. You need a vast film culture. We're all good at identifying or referencing Kubrick (here, Kubrick has nothing to do with it, don’t misunderstand me); what’s harder is knowing what and how to cite Meyer, Lenzi, Corman, etc. If Rodriguez’s desire was to make a truly trashy film, he got it all wrong: he should have given it to Jason Eisener instead of Maniquis: (beware, the link might disturb more sensitive individuals).
John Carpenter Halloween - La Notte Delle Streghe

If you want a movie where Pacino isn't trying to be cool, watch him alongside Gene Ackman in "lo spaventa passeri." Along with "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Panic in Needle Park," it's one of his best performances.
John Carpenter Halloween - La Notte Delle Streghe

"Halloween I have no doubt has been a major influence on thousands of slasher films" let's say that if Carpenter, after adoring "Reazione a catena" by Bava, hadn't directed Halloween, the word slasher wouldn't even exist. Perhaps that would even be a good thing, but you can't give this film a two and expect to know how to recognize a good movie.

"The album cannot fail to please those who love easy tunes with the usual lyrics from a proud punk kid" after this sentence, do you have the audacity to give 5 to NOFX???

"Guess what the specialized magazines of the time called the music made by Pantera? Power Metal. Sorry, but which specialized magazines were you reading? Il corriere dei piccoli? Because for hard, psycho, metal shock, etc., Pantera have always played thrash from 'Cowboys' onwards..."

I just wanted to say that if, after a night of drinking, you make yourself a citrus juice with a tablespoon of honey, you’re a bunch of sissies.

No, sorry, I definitely didn't understand: was Mamiffer at Roadburn??? And what the hell was it doing there? Were Peter Broderick and Alasdair Roberts there too, by any chance?

except for bad chili, I can't distinguish the others in the series from my memories. I do know, however, that I liked them all a lot, with the exception of "capitani oltraggiosi."
