I had missed it: "Indeed, you’re right guys ;)". It’s not possible, damn it, you’re on Debaser, on a review of Slayer, you should have at least told us all to go fuck ourselves. And if you wanted to do it right, you could have seasoned the comment with curses and farts. Don’t even get me started on the winking emojis. PROOOOOOOOOOOT

"I wanted to kindly provoke some of their fans (it seems I succeeded) to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Slayer; I recognize that they have been fundamental for extreme metal. I acknowledge that they kick ass like very few others. But it’s not like I’m tearing my hair out when I hear them play; at most, I’d slap the first person who comes within reach. Now that we're on the revival theme, I'm going to dig up some 90s power nonsense. Actually, I might dig out 'qualche cosa di maledetto' by Iced Heart, which I haven't listened to in about ten years. @gates: I would find the neo-Nazi attitude of Slayer more annoying than the Satanist one, because there are more idiot Nazis than idiot Satanists (real Satanists, I mean, beasts of Satan and the like). Of course, both are idiots, to be fair. And as I repeat: I don't give a damn about what they say or think; they make music that kicks ass, and that's the only thing about them that interests me. To conclude: metal is often much more commercial than pop in terms of music (I think of people like Gamma Ray or Running Wild: people who are highly respected in the scene and who have never deviated by a comma or almost, in their way of composing. For them, the word 'experimentation' is blasphemy). The problem with pop is that it's a musical genre imposed by the media: Lady Gaga was all over Sunday sports broadcasts a couple of years ago, and the jingles for mobile phone ads are often ultra-pumped tracks from MTV, etc. Metal is something you choose for yourself, and you often have to go looking for it, which already makes it more dignified than pop (not all pop, of course; let’s avoid generalizations)."

"I, on the other hand, wonder what credibility and seriousness a group of 30-40-50-year-olds has when they still center their 'music' around satanism. No type of credibility: if I put on Slayer, I want to feel the hits, not the credibility. Do you think I care if they are for real or just pretending? The fact is, when you hit play on any of their CDs, up to the present 'little devil in the music,' the stones split in two. If you don’t care about this at all, you can avoid listening to them."

"Then there are bands like Pentagram and Manilla Road, which, although to a lesser extent, have greatly inflated and perfected doom metal." Pentagram inflated doom metal less than My Dying Bride or Cathedral??? I can't see that at all, sorry. Dorian, Griff, and Jannings left the grind, death, and thrash sounds because they wanted to play more "Pentagram"...

sorry: mission accomplished halfway: his image is indeed discredited as an actor; it seems he's been worth nothing for ages, and the last acceptable film he made I believe is The Sleepers. On the other hand, the Hollywood venture has completely failed: today the Tribeca Film Festival is one of the most valued events among cinephiles. Let’s say it's the American Cannes. In short, the boycott has turned into a pathetic act of totalitarian revenge. And there are people who still give weight to the Oscars...

De Niro produces independent cinema and supports (perhaps he's even the founder of) the Tribeca Film Festival; in short, he is a prominent name in the independent universe. The best way for Hollywood to discredit his (phenomenal) work in the production and distribution of alternative cinema was to boycott his image as a sacred monster. Mission accomplished. Tribeca

"the chocolate factory a masterpiece", "Then having Walken in the cast and using him that way, without him saying even half a line is an enormous waste.", "little movie", "fucking film", people quoting Fellini to belittle Burton (what the hell does that have to do with anything???), "one of the worst Burton films"... the comments on this page are a celebration of anti-cinema.
