great record. I agree with those who say that in the long run this music can become a bit heavy. but maybe it’s all that 80s synthetic underground that is too dark and suffocating. After 4 years of Cabaret Voltaire, Coil, and Current 93, I had to take refuge in the thousand colors of psychedelia. These were the 2 records that saved my soul: It’s not true... My soul now belongs to that faggot Balance.

I have Without The World by them, but, like ali76, they don't excite me.

One last very important thing :) If you don’t feel like checking whether there’s a scene with a turtle or not (I understand), think about this: given the movie it is (violent trash) and the cursed aura it carries. Do you want me to forget that Luca Barbareschi was in it??? I'm still trying to recover from the shock.

"Nes: I'm reposting the link to the 'incriminated' scene that you can easily find on YouTube. Sorry, why? I've already seen it, I already told you that I haven't watched that film, I already told you that clearly I misunderstood the term 'sforbiciare'... now if you want, I can tell you that I watched Cannibal Holocaust if that makes you feel calmer. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it though. I saw the story of a girl who goes into the jungle for her thesis. She wanted to debunk the myth that there are still cannibal populations. Never a more wrong idea (there are also other 'civilized' people, not very reputable, along with her, but I can't remember how they ended up there). So, off! A castration (apparently painless, by the way, since the one who undergoes it, after a night tied to a pole, is freed and jumps and runs for the rest of the film. Not until the end, they eat his brains before the credits, obviously), a woman hanging by her breasts, skulls opened and swiftly devoured, a ferret and a snake fighting, limbs in the final scene. The version I saw was a DivX taken from Italia Uno or Rete 4. And I understood that the turtle scene is also in Cannibal Holocaust... I assure you there’s one in Cannibal Ferox too (different from the one you linked me: I don't remember the turtle's entrails, I don't recognize the actors, and if my memory doesn't betray me, in Cannibal Ferox, it's killed by the locals... or maybe there are even two, first one is killed by the locals, then another by the 'civilized'). If you have it on DVD, you can jump from one scene to another and check. It should happen shortly after the kids reach the village, maybe before the castration (I saw it 4 years ago, take this information with a grain of salt). Indeed, maybe (maybe, huh) it’s precisely the reason why the indios get angry and tear apart the student and the ugly guys."

cpt: I trusted you so much that I went to check if I might have been confused and actually seen CH. This is what I found on vaccapedia (which usually gets it right, but evidently not this time): "The film obtained approval from the Italian censors on February 6, 1980 (censorship approval no. 74702), and was banned for minors under 18 [...] The following scenes were cut [...] 3. The scene of the turtle's killing and dismemberment (71.2 meters)." Perhaps with "cut" they only mean "shortened," or maybe they're just mistaken, I don't know. Or perhaps, another version was later released uncut. For sure, the scene you just showed me is not the one I saw. "It could be CF, but I have doubts, since I don’t remember it (I rarely get these things wrong)." Keep your doubts if you want; I don't intend to convince you. If you want, you can rewatch the film. And yes, I am talking about Cannibal Ferox and cannibalism films in general. As I said in the first post of this discussion: "I don’t know; I’ve only seen Cannibal Ferox by Lenzi. I've never understood if the film banned in 31 countries was that one (as the film literature says) or Cannibal Holocaust (as the notes on the DVD cover state). Surely, in Cannibal Ferox, I found the violence against animals appallingly tasteless. If I'm not mistaken, by the way, Cannibal Holocaust focuses precisely on the (real) tortures inflicted on animals rather than the (cinematic) tortures on human beings..." As for the potential confusion between the two films, I believe I already answered you earlier. Look, since this discussion started, the only thing I contested was the "parallelism" you drew between slaughterhouses and Cannibal Holocaust. That's all. Oh, and one more thing: the scenes of Cannibal Ferox featuring animals are real. (This is the reason that led me to avoid watching Cannibal Holocaust, which focuses precisely on those).

With focus, they have been idolized. They came back 15 years later with a fucking album, flat, short-lived, and devoid of ideas. 15 years... I can't recall a more commercial operation than this. I wonder how it's possible that the medalists didn't throw heaps of shit at them last year (or whenever traced was released). Maybe because it's not trendy yet. I'll skip this part entirely.

The film is a masterpiece, no doubt about it. I don’t understand: the word masterpiece is clearly overused when talking about established directors who have nothing more to say (like in The Aviator or Shutter Island, to name a director I adore who lately has taken to making medium-quality films). Yet when it comes to a total work from some nobody, a whole series of adjectives pop up to describe the piece: very delicate, little gem, poetic, delicate. No objections, for heaven’s sake. But let’s emphasize the real weight of the film. Don’t be afraid to say things as they are.

I wasn’t there. However, I really admire those who don’t give encores. I prefer that those who perform tell me what they have to say all at once. Without making me wait and beg like a prima donna.
