"Undoubtedly, Nightwish today, in the year 2011, are not the fundamental band of 21st-century metal; they are probably not even the most important." I almost agree with you.

"Some say that stoner is old news, that no one plays it anymore," and let them say that. We've arrived at stoner/grunge ...

other people should get rid of the singing. It really boosts the bell-bottom effect, black flowers and lsd is true, but if it were just instrumental it would be one of my favorite albums of the year. Of course: great suggestion.

I wonder who, after watching the Swedish film, would feel the need to see a Hollywood remake...

One positive thing about the Gaga, however, is this: if Gaga is one of the ugliest stars I can remember, this is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. She should just stick to Hollywood Ingrandisci questa immagine (oh my, to be honest it seems the movie looks terrible too... YouTube video non trovatoqDMXkPfxjOc)

I found the movie to be a complete letdown (slow and pretentious beyond belief considering the high school comic plot). I thought it was pointless to involve the chemical brothers (who can write the coolest music in the world, but if the sound editing is just a standardized flatness, it would be just as well to let me compose the scores). What surprises me, though, is that it’s directed by the same person who made Pride and Prejudice: I actually loved that film (which is worlds away from my interests, genres, and tastes). My partner made me watch it the day after Sense and Sensibility. Now that one really made me cringe (but I hate Ang Lee).

There was a missing piece: cats are the junkies that come from the center, the ones who do it because it’s cool. Self-centered assholes who waste time, money, and health in places that don’t belong to them.

I’ll throw this out there: "the burning trash bins give off a strange smell
our serious discussions from yesterday intercepted by the finance police
Tunisian dealers rent rooms in hotels near the stations
we are egocentric like cats that have escaped from the apartments
you resurrected the dead tracks and stitched up everyone’s wrists
you resurrected the dead tracks to take us to the discount store to shop" the first four lines are purely descriptive: the suburbs (burning trash bins), dealing (the Tunisians and the intercepted discussions). Then the cats that have escaped—cats unfit for street life. Incapable of understanding the dynamics of street survival, too coddled, too cared for, too spoiled (egocentric, indeed). I've always thought the last two could be translated like this: "you were the lifeline for an army of addicts." In this album, I hear so much of that synthetic drug and that smog that I’d define it as setting up an atmosphere that I wouldn’t hesitate to call "cyberpunk noir on the fringes of everything" (punk has nothing to do with it, Gibson, Dick, and even Claudio Caligari fit in better here). I was caught off guard when I discovered that the guy is from Ferrara: a certain Milan is VISIBLE in this album. "And I even get peed on by the angels." I would be very curious to know what Brondi thinks of this interpretation. He’d probably just laugh and call me an idiot. Or, he might do like that genius (screw it, even if it bothers you) Montale and respond with a, "well, yes, it also means that."

Oh, okay... :) Well, anyway, if it was intimate and small and on Via Torino, it was the Centrale. It's one of the cinemas with the best programming in Milan.

Were you at the central one? (via Torino)? Very interesting proposal. I had no idea about it.
