In the end, you piqued my curiosity quite a bit; I'm going to try to hear something.

"Leonar" is terrifying; you are a fucking genius, but you need to explain to me why you thought of it that way." These are "stretched" and edited parts of songs found on the albums (which I listened to in full) that you reviewed. Nothing brilliant, simple style, almost randomness; the first title I put on the blog under the link AMEBA was: "Drone is just a joke." Now, please stop: you’re a fake, and go do your homework on Korean cinema, but honestly, I couldn't care less. PS: I saw this the other day and it’s awesome. It references Fellini, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Corman, and another 2000 people. The Kill Bill of Jee-woon Kim: a pulp that ranges from thriller to horror, romantic drama, action, gore, comedy, and crime, to western. Of his films that I've seen, this is my favorite.

"You're not being clear." Matteo, we've established that you're a manipulator (by your own admission), you said you would go watch Korean films (which I suggested in the first comment). I've already achieved my goal (as I pointed out five comments ago). I'm confused, yes: what the hell do we have to talk about still? "So I would fill this review with random words to pass the film off as a cultured product" you really understand nothing... no, you filled the review with words that have little to do with cinema... the review is a manipulation (but wasn't I the one being unclear?)/// "What do you want, do you want me to overturn my judgment just because you say so?" No, I want you to admit that you're a manipulator, which you've already done (so what are we still doing here?)/// "In the contest of who has the longest one, who has seen more, excuse my frankness but you lose right from the start. Avoid starting it." It's like saying: "I won, the ball is mine and you don’t play anymore"; "and no you understand nothing: you may even have it 20 meters long but if this page is your considerations on Hero, you don't know how to use it."/// "Comparing it to Lady Snowblood": yes, with the difference that the Japanese were already tackling certain things 30 years earlier, so explain to me how you can say that "IN COMPARISON Lady Vendetta is more than a masterpiece." Cinema is made of shots, editing, direction, acting... forget it, I think you just don't get it (otherwise you would have already talked about it in the review) and above all it has nothing to do with the point which is: you're a manipulator (and I repeat, you said it, not me)/// "South Korea is better than China," is this the message you want to convey at all costs: "you continue to not understand the message is: no way that Hero is the most interesting thing that has come from the East (as you seem to want to make believe in the review)/// "the best of the East." How can you compare two realities that have nothing to do with each other?" you are the one in the review who compares Western cinema and Eastern cinema (one better than the other in the last 10 years). I also agree with you, but for God's sake, talk to us about the films that are really worth considering in such a discussion otherwise you are a manipulator./// "You underestimate the third wheel, which is Japan" No, I said that Lady Vendetta is a better-made film than Lady Snowblood (which is quite natural given the budgets available and the fact that Wook is not just any random guy).

"The inaccuracies ("macroscopic", huh) would be..." No, (stop changing the subject, are you stupid or just pretending?) the macroscopic inaccuracies would be: "the most beautiful 90 cinematic minutes of the last 10 years" "in the West - at least as far as I'm concerned - little has rivaled the depth of 'Hero' in this decade"; "Superb screenplay, a masterpiece in its own right regardless of the brilliance of the project."; the phantom "Conceptual superiority"./// "Around here, one can also demonstrate the undemonstrable" yes, your review is a demonstration of that: <<I don't know a blessed thing about cinema, I don't know anything about Eastern cinema, but I'll stuff a review with random words that sound cultured, so people think I know what I'm talking about...>>/// "I think (but I could be wrong) that those who intervene to criticize without even having read the review are wrong regardless" I too, but this has nothing to do with it and your constant changing of the subject is starting to be annoying.///Then you talk about accusations against you for taking over the site, about Christ, about Pinochet, about coups... my boy, you’re not well.../// And stop with this story about whether it’s an adapted subject or not. It’s cinema; I couldn't care less where it comes from. You talk about masterpieces? Ok, let's talk about camera movements, long takes, editing, photography, color saturation (c'mon, if you don't talk about it in Hero, when will you?), let's talk about cinema, damn it! For two days you've been going on about hot air, if this is your way of talking about cinema, it’s better if you go back to prog, at least I don't care about that and I won't get sucked in.///"Praising a filmography based on nationality is partially justifiable, partially utterly senseless" is a natural thing: in the 50s/60s, documentary cinema came from Italy; then Hollywood took over, in the years from the 20s to the 40s, German films were masterful. Cinema is a matter of schools and funds invested. The new French films (those from the last 3 years) ridicule the last 15 years of French cinema (almost all of it to be thrown out). Why? Because the funds for cinema have increased (but maybe with the crisis they'll decrease again). In Italy, 70% of cinema funding goes to cinepanetoni... talking to you about cinema is becoming depressing, Matteo, seriously, go back to music: you can bother me whenever you want, here it's getting a bit tough. What’s so genius about (Sympathy for) Lady Vendetta? Nothing, but it came out less than 10 years after Hero, it's Eastern, has a screenplay superior to that of Hero (which really has none, but never mind, we've already seen that here you can't pull a rabbit out of a hat), and a better photography (and certainly less clever). It’s not a genius film, it’s just better than Hero (which according to you is the definitive film, something only Kubrick, Kurosawa, or Antonioni could make... and Lady Snowblood is so cool, but that said, Lady Vendetta in comparison is more than a masterpiece. NB: Lady Vendetta is not a masterpiece... it’s just much better than Hero. To be even clearer and to avoid you changing the subject again: do you want to talk about incredible Eastern cinema? Go to Korea. You won’t find masterpieces, but you will find the best of the East. PS: in the "who has the longest one, who has seen the most" race, excuse my frankness but you lose from the start. Avoid starting it. But didn’t we conclude? Oh yes, we did conclude: you’re a phony and now you’ll educate yourself with Korean cinema. PPS: Lady Vendetta closes an ideal trilogy; watching it alone and comparing it to Lady Snowblood means... yes, come on, we get it... Sympathy for Mr. Vendetta and Old Boy (in that order) in case you were wondering (I think those are the three most famous Korean films abroad)."

"And who ever said I want to be taken seriously?" well, I don't know Matteo, as soon as someone comes along to point out (rightly) that you've written some inaccuracies (sometimes glaring), you start endless discussions where you defend your positions to the death... Either you want to be taken seriously, or you have behavioral issues.../// And you keep changing the subject, shining Kubrick... but who the hell cares? I want to know what the hell it means conceptually to be superior... is it conceptually superior because there's an original subject??? Get lost! :) Conceptually superior means nothing, and a graduate in literature should know that (unless they have a degree in "musicology"). Everything else is a tricky rodeo of words that climb up the mirrors boasting knowledge you don't have (Kubrick? For God's sake, you praise Hiro as if he's the best in cinema of the last 20 years and expect to quote Kubrick???)/// I'd say we're at this point: you said you're a trickster, which is the only sensible thing you can deduce from the review; and that you watch Korean films. I’ve finished my job.

1 That crap was referring to the plot/screenplay. Obviously, I expressed myself poorly. 2 "Everyone can see what they want in a film" no f***! And the fact that you see a "smart intertwining" just doesn't make sense to me, but whatever, let's leave it here because we’re getting nowhere. 3 Let's close this story too; we’re here talking about heroes: you can’t mention Kraftwerk in a review about Björk if you want to be taken seriously. 4 You keep changing the subject and completely miss the point: Why is this film conceptually superior??? You first brought up Antigone, then you went off with "Let's talk about ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY against the backdrop of a REAL historical context." Instead of going off on tangents, it would be more productive for you to explain yourself better instead of playing around with "based on real events" or "adaptations." Anyway, congratulations: we've just discovered that the manifesto of Italian neorealism (Rome, Open City) is not based on real events, but is an adaptation... (JESUS!) 5. I understand we’re still talking about (extreme) Eastern cinema, okay, and I know full well that Bhollywood is another thing. "So why do you tell me that I could mention India or Iran instead of Korea?" "No one denies that great things have come from Korea [...] But that's another story."
No, that’s exactly the story: if you want to see extraordinary films, ones you want to rave about, and you want them to be oriental, nowadays you have to look to Korea. And on this, don’t try to bring up the matter of tastes; rather, watch these films:

Revisited four or five years ago, I've scaled it down a bit. The first time you see it, though, it’s a bolt from the blue. Even if you already know how it will end.

You're right. There are 3 episodes plus a story that ties them together. I remember those three episodes the same way: calm people writing or hanging out at the temple, the arrival of a certain guy, a fight./// "It's a film that should be taken for what it is"; that is, a piece of crap, just because it's accessible?" When did I ever say that a film is a piece of crap just because it's accessible??? When did I ever say that Hero is a piece of crap film? ///You didn't review the Kyuss, my mistake, you reviewed Brant Bjork... Kraftwerk doesn't relate at all. "But what tragedy is it referring to? It's not referring to any tragedy." You're the one who brought up the delirium about Antigone, not me. "Let's talk about ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY against the backdrop of a REAL historical context." Thanks, it's a film... Dances with Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans, Rome Open City, The Road, The Young and the Damned... but also: The Last Samurai, for crying out loud, Robin Hood... etc. etc. etc. and again etc. .../// "Take a trip to Korea." Yeah, sure, why not India? Or Iran? [...] We're talking about a communist country, relatively closed off to Western cinema and before "Raise the Red Lantern" almost exclusively based on low-cost domestic productions (China), versus a country that couldn't be more Westernized and pro-American. Why? Because we were talking about Eastern cinema, Iran is in the Middle East, and India with Bollywood like America with Hollywood is a story unto itself. If you don't believe me, watch a random Bollywood film, "Endhiran" I remember it being fun. By the way, Hero cost thirty million dollars, not exactly a ridiculous budget; try to see what Kim Ki Duk (in Korea) does with 16 thousand dollars in "Thirst."

OH MY GOD... "delving into the wise intertwining of 'Hero', after all, means revealing a lot," WISE INTERTWINE??? repeating the same thing three times while changing the colors shows no wisdom; moreover, repeating the same thing three times doesn't create an intertwining, it creates a repeated intertwining three times./// "the most beautiful 90 cinematic minutes of the last 10 years," THANK GOD, NO./// "after our national Robertino - only 2 or 3 films truly deserved the Oscar they received" I am one of those who believes that the Oscar doesn't mean shit./// "every dialogue, what am I saying, every single word is weighed and measured, so much so that (at least for once) the Italian dialogues don't make one long for the original Mandarin text" if the dubbing doesn’t make you long for the original, it means the dialogues are either flat, poorly written, or unnecessary./// "Superb screenplay, a masterpiece in itself regardless of the project's brilliance." I accept that there are people who can be swayed by clever choices that are few and far between. But the screenplay of 'Hero' isn't even clever; it dances on the edge of being a joke./// "Conceptual superiority" excuse me, Matteo... what does that mean?/// As for visual superiority, I have nothing to say: it's so aesthetically beautiful that despite being a load of crap, it's still a film worth seeing. The cinematic East is better sought outside of China.
