Instead, bringing out a film based on a comic, like Lenzi's Kriminal or Bava's Diabolik, is a super innovative idea. Let's avoid saying things like "but it's a fan movie," which would automatically throw it into the pot of "films I'd love to make but can't." And even as a work of entertainment, as something that "let's do something alternative"... that's an old idea too, even for Italy: Let's also overlook how much ignorance there is about our cinema if someone claims that in Italy we always stick to the same genres. Name a genre, and I can find you at least one Italian film from the last ten years.
