One of the films in which I prefer Hardy. Perhaps my favorite role of his, no questions asked. The wife on the phone is played by Alice from "Luther." The drunk guy is Moriarty from "Sherlock" with Cumberbatch. (Anyone who doesn't know Sherlock and Luther, as usual, has Netflix for a damn reason... Just saying). The cast is out of this world, and the direction is miraculous.

Twenty-three films to tell a story of men in spandex saving the world. 23... Something must have gone wrong... But the character of the guy who halves the population has a truly interesting argumentative background. One of the best villains ever seen in an action film. Then, of course: true fans of the saga hate how it has been handled, because it was different in the comics. And it's true: in the comics, the only argument is that the guy is physiologically and morbidly attracted to destruction. A random character written in 5 minutes for an '80s video game has more dignity. And the fans of this childishness get offended if you make an effort to write it better... These films are 90% garbage because they target garbage people who have been reading and watching stories for 30 years and have never developed a critical spirit capable of standing on its own. It’s hard to write something for such people.
