I just watched the video of dirty, which I don't know if it's from this work, and it made me pretty sick; if someone were to ask me the genre I think I would coin the term "demential medal."
experimental medal is quite dangerous: behind the hope of surprising the listener with something new and never heard before (and brutally violent, of course...) always lurks the risk of presenting a work that is out of reach. the electronic part of the piece I just heard, for instance, sounds like it was made by a 90s DJ at a rave. not "for" a rave, it seems made "at" a rave, continuing to repeat the same three things while changing the tempo because he just dropped ecstasy and you know he doesn't care.
by the way, the pairing of the video in its intellectual and stylish black and white with the screams of the vocals is seriously funny. just like a video with people doing lines... it was funny in 2004 when Manson did it, do you really think it won't be funny 11 years later?
but hey, maybe I caught the wrong track. that said, I really feel like putting 777 back on.

"It really seems to have aged poorly." Find a Carpenter film that hasn't aged, damn it, just watch Assault on Precinct 13... it's old stuff over 30 years old and shot with a shoestring budget...
"The tension scenes are a bit weak." "The???" It's one continuous scene of tension in this film, there isn't a drop in pace for 90 minutes.
We're not on the same page: anyone trying to convey the idea that "Halloween was, but is no longer" is in the wrong line of work.

Despite the fact that their discography also includes some good stuff, a lot of it is avoidable. A lot. Getting lost in their production is like wasting time. I could listen to one of their albums 50 times in a row, and the next day I still wouldn't remember anything. I don't know this one (and maybe I even have it), and I'll just have to come to terms with it.
