Frank Zappa One Size Fits All
Voto:
Uncle Frank is a genius; it’s virtually impossible to find another artist with a discography like his. "One Size Fits All" is my favorite, truly a sonic kaleidoscope. "Inca Roads," "Florentine Pogen," and "Andy" showcase endless class (in "Sofa N.2" there’s a voice almost identical to Hammill's; is it a parody of VDGG??). "Sleep Dirt" is not reviewed, so I’ll write here: "The Ocean Is The Ultimate Solution" is inhuman.
ABC The Lexicon Of Love

I bow. For me, the perfect pop album of the eighties, followed by "Steve McQueen," "Arc Of A Diver," and "New Gold Dream."

I was also looking for the review of "Birds Of Fire" to give it the highest rating; "One Word" is unforgettable. In this debut by John and company, "Noonward Race" and "Vital Transformations" stand out, and it seems they have quite influenced the Crimson of the second season. The drummer Billy Cobham is impressive.
Iron Maiden Killers
Voto:
In 1998, I left the Maiden for their cousins, Priest (Halford on vocals, not exactly with Ripper). Although I haven't listened to them in a long time, I have a certain admiration for this LP, whose songs are all of high quality. From the other albums, I particularly remember "Phantom Of The Opera," "Children Of The Damned," "22, Acacia Avenue," and the cover of "Best Of The Beast."

We all accept criticism, but to insults I will respond every time: Larrok, keep your dullness to yourself. Let's at least avoid lying; I don’t throw shade on everything that isn’t prog; the only time I called a band crap was for the boy band Five (anything to say about that?) and the only band I’ve attacked are the Pistols; I mainly denigrate certain music critics who always pick on the same genres. One mistake, I exaggerated a bit about Symphony X, I'm realizing it tonight, listening for the first time to the first three albums by Suede. By the way, I don’t only listen to prog, but no one will care about a long list of about twenty pop, jazz, and metal bands... One last thing: don’t take it out on me but on others (many among users and anonymous ones) who really only know how to throw crap here and there at any album and criticize just for the sake of it, even well-written reviews.
Genesis Duke
Genesis Duke

Since "Trespass" in 1970, they haven't missed a shot until 1980 (the peak in 71-73): "Duke" seems to me the last decent effort. In the book "The River of Constant Change," a good book about Genesis, in a couple of interviews, Phil Collins lashes out: "The punk movement was very important because it shook the tree, making the rotten apples ELP, Moody Blues, Yes, and Pink Floyd fall off. He also says he feels frustrated by the fact that Genesis are compared to those bands and that his band has much more SUBSTANCE." I note that the interviews are from 1982-1986, the years of the substance "Illegal Alien," "Who Dunnit," "invisible album," and similar. Also, had he attended a punk gathering in '77, he would not have received a triumphal welcome (at home on a stretcher?). I'm not saying that punk was a completely useless movement, but it was too influential, even today.
Jethro Tull Thick As A Brick

It has been called a timeless classic, I agree.

"We are the biggest band in the world," they said multiple times. If it's true, tomorrow there will be a concert by Britney Spears with Cannibal Corpse.

I really love "Det Som Engang Var," because in "Det Som Engang Var" sooner or later everyone kicks the bucket.
