Franco Battiato Fetus
Voto:
Did Battiato really renounce these albums??? If so, he is a disgrace, because beyond the experiments and all that, this debut of his on 33 RPM is a work created with exquisite sensitivity, almost Pasolinian. Of all the tracks, I am particularly attached to "Energia."
Venom Black Metal

An extraordinarily imperfect and effective album. In my vinyl version, there is also "Bloodlust" (originally a 12" included only in the Italian pressing of the album).

I’m sorry you came across this confanetto. It’s well known that Froese and company are a bit (rather) washed up, especially after churning out three or four works a year. However, there are some recent works of theirs that aren’t too shabby (for example, their albums inspired by the Divine Comedy), even if they certainly don’t do justice to the whimsical experimentalism of the 70s. The review, though, didn’t sit well with me due to a certain condescension towards the band in general. Mentioning "some worthy work" from the late 70s (with Zeit, which is from '72, being cited) struck me as reductive. Or did I misunderstand?

Very beautiful. An album made with heart.

It's true: they are really impressive live. I got to hear them in their electric set and also at a semi-acoustic concert. Both times I appreciated them a lot, engaging and sincere. By the way: they always have a full house around here!

"In my musical ignorance, unable to measure up to the 'expert' music critics, I promote this album"... and you’re doing a great job!! It's one of the most creative from the band, in my opinion.
Bathory Blood Fire Death
Voto:
The best season of Bathory beautifully contextualized. Well done! Here’s a piece that I believe is the essence of the band: "The Golden Walls of Heaven." It encapsulates the epic grandeur that will later be developed in Hammerheart and the Mephistophelian fury of their thrash.

Really a nice proposal, this is indeed FUNKY!!!!!

Everything is very beautiful. Just a note from a good local patriot: in 1584, the Duomo of Milan was still under construction (for example, the facade of the ancient church of Santa Tecla had not yet been demolished, which, even in the early 1600s, was still part of the construction; half of the tiburio and all the roofing, including the spires, still needed to be completed).

I wrote it and I'll say it again: how I wish those years would come back...
