LA RECENSIONE

"Viaggio senza vento" is a "concept album".

I believe I am not exaggerating when I say it could be one of the best Italian works of the '90s.

The album develops the story of a boy who first encounters drugs (as an escape route), then after spending an indeterminate period in a correctional facility, successfully finds freedom and escapes from his land (Lombardy), from monotony, from indifference, and from the "modern" society he no longer identifies with. He leaves for an eastern land and through various life experiences, tries to rediscover himself, his own feelings, and his own personality.

It's impossible to talk about hits or particularly interesting tracks because each song leads to the next; nevertheless, for the sake of accuracy, the initial "Senza vento" and "Sangue impazzito" caused quite a stir and success. The Brescians, led by Omar Pedrini, came from a recent past filled with '80s-style romantic music; this album finds them grown and mature, and is probably, along with the subsequent release ("2020 Speedball"), the peak of the group's production.

Worth mentioning is the vocal performance of Francesco Renga, lead singer.

They know that if they don’t make it big now, things are unlikely to improve in the future.

Viaggio senza vento is steeped in literature, philosophy, and spirituality.
