@FOSCA: on outside 1. I agree with you. On Heathen… well, you know! By the way, I was watching on YouTube some excerpts from the Glass Spider Tour (which I didn't get the pleasure to see in person) where, despite questionable songs like Day in Day Out, the various performances were really of excellent quality. Frampton very engaged and confident. Listening to a song that I love very much from Bowie’s repertoire like TIME was a real treat. Too bad about those very blonde and bleached hair that David sported. Damn the '80s!!!!!!!

You know, I own Bowie’s entire discography. From his debut up to Scary Monsters on vinyl, and the rest on CD. Of course, I never bought the dozens of compilations released, except for Rare. I still listen to Bowie today, and the works from the '90s (except for Outside 1., Buddha of ...., and Earthling) are pretty silly. So it’s the "respect" that keeps me tied to the Thin White Duke. This latest compilation, from what you've listed, seems like the usual stuff. They've scraped the bottom of the barrel, and if, as you claim, Bowie himself oversaw this release, well! Then he really must need the money! The Reality Tour, from what I read at the time, was a great success (I have the DVD, just to be prepared) so I’m surprised by this latest marketing gimmick. Bowie needs to try to release a "decent" new album, but I fear that his creative spark has run dry for quite some time. Tonight and Never Let Me Down are, honestly, bad works that the author himself rejected for various reasons. Regarding Tonight, he said that the blame was on the onerous contract that forced him to release something quickly to replicate the sales success of Let’s Dance. For Never..., he stated that he lost control over the production, so the sound wasn't exactly what he wanted. Is it possible? Haste makes for a poor advisor, but if you have few ideas... there’s not much to be done.

Honestly, I’ve only listened to it once, with little concentration. Well, it didn’t really impress me, but I’ll repeat that my judgment doesn’t count for much in this case. Add to that the fact that those two little French brats annoy me as well. Moon Safari isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s listenable; then again, I feel like they’ve gotten a bit full of themselves. Or maybe it’s the press that has overrated them too much.
