Camel Harbour of Tears
Voto:
Disc of incredible melancholy, it has very high moments. Maybe not their best, but definitely very inspired. The review is not bad at all, although I find it a bit too concise in style as well. But it's just a matter of personal taste. I like the "essence."
PS - Lostinmoments, don't keep reciting the de profundis for the great Andy. Please, just stop.

Of course I meant the best album by the camel, right? That goes without saying.

the best album of the 80s without a doubt. nice review
Camel Breathless

Great album, but there are two or three songs that I can't quite stomach. A step below the first four gems and also below Rain Dances. Nonetheless, the great Camel.
Camel Rain Dances
Voto:
What a scarcity. Aside from the fact that, in my opinion (without taking anything away from Sinclair, a great), it's really with Rain Dances that they start to lose something of the past. I love quite a few songs from this album, but Highways of the Sun is definitely quite bad. Anyway, in the end, it deserves a 5, and it's probably the last one. Although in the '90s, with Dust and Dreams and Harbour of Tears, Andy Camel (now without his old companions) really bounced back quite a bit.

decent review, but I also don't accept the criticism of air born and another night. excellent album as a whole

Great review, excellent album. I prefer Snow Goose, but that’s a personal matter of emotion. There are no other albums that move me so much from beginning to end. Although I must admit that, from a "technical" standpoint and perhaps also in terms of compositional complexity, this one and maybe Moonmadness have just a bit more to offer.
Regarding the review, I would have avoided the references to hard rock in "Freefall" and "Earthrise." While the concept is understandable, the term "hard" seems a bit forced to me.
Aside from Latimer (who to me is a sort of deity, capable of creating unimaginable suggestions with guitar and flute), Bardens and Ward (and Ferguson himself) are also great musicians. Oh, if my beloved Marillion had kept Ward instead of settling for the sloth, Ian Mosley (just kidding, old Ian).
P.S. - For Lostinmoments: Latimer had exceptional musical taste in playing, a real point of reference for guitarists! It’s a shame he can no longer contribute to this art...
But hey, he’s not dead, so huge congratulations to the incredible Andy!

beautiful review, great album. for me it oscillates between a 4 and a 5, but in the end I go for the 5 because at least the first 4 camels are a must-have at all costs (but even the subsequent ones, though less homogeneous, contain gems). in my opinion, this album as a debut is one of the best; I definitely prefer snow goose and moonmadness, maybe even mirage but what a treat! thinking and rethinking, if I have to find a flaw in camel it's perhaps the lack of a great vocalist. but the wonderful andy knows how to make the guitar and the flute sing in place of the vocal cords. by the way, a posthumous tribute to the great pete bardens and best wishes to andy latimer who continues to have serious health issues.

Perhaps it lacks a bit of description, but when the emotions stand out so clearly and passionately, no criticism holds. A great review (never given a 5) for what I also consider, in the end, THE MASTERPIECE of prog by a band that can never be appreciated enough. WONDERFUL. And congratulations.
